I’m always looking for fun, family friendly things to do with our enduraLAB family so they don’t always think of us as running and weights (we can be fun too)! I’ve been hearing about Friday on the Green off Magnolia for awhile but just haven’t been able to make it out. I told my husband, Lee that May was our month and we had to check it out- no excuses! Well… the weather was looking like it was going to make an excuse for us…

We decided to go ahead and meet our friends and if it rained, we’d make alternate plans. Boy am I glad we went! It was a scene out of a movie. The grass was bright green covered with lawn chairs, blankets, kiddos running around and yummy vendors. They band line up was the Whiskey Folk Ramblers, The Paychecks, and Big City Folk, who played upbeat, can’t-help-but-move-your-body music. It sprinkled a little but for the most part it was breezy and just perfect weather for outdoor fun.

I definitely recommend taking your family to this event.

For food they had Salsa Limón, Taco Heads, The Magnolia Cheese Company, Stir Crazy Bakery and More Puffcorn Please. Personally, I love me a good cupcake! So I went straight for Stir Crazy Bakery and got 2 strawberry limeade cupcakes, 2 cookies & cream cupcakes, 2 coffee cupcakes and 6 atomic bomb cookies. Yes, I own a gym and yes, I did share these treats with about 10 people! For food, I had brisket tacos at Taco Heads and they were delectable!

Over all, this event was great. I recommend taking your family and friends. Bravo to Near Southside for making yet another must do event in Fort Worth.

What other outdoor concerts and events do you enjoy in Fort Worth?

  1. I too, Isis, have been impressed with all the new events, like this and the Pop-Up Market that are going to be on a regular basis on the Southside. We are a SW family 😉 but really love heading over to that area for all the new restaurants (both family friendly and awesome ones for date nights). I encourage people to really check out this developing area of town – if you haven’t yet, you will be so surprised!

  2. Isis, I too have a Jack born in June 2011! My hubby and I are a huge fan of live music and Jack likes it as well so we will have to try this out 🙂
