Fort Worth Summer Camp Guide


The weather is getting a bit warmer and although we still have a few months before school ends, we can’t help but start thinking about summer and what our plans will be.  NOW is the time to start thinking about summer camp options, as many registrations are already open! We’ve put together a comprehensive list of camps available in the Fort Worth area. While not complete, it encompasses many of the options you and your family have in a variety of themes, price ranges and schedules. Sports & Fine Arts Camps

sports and fine arts campsEric Bell Soccer Academy @ TCU : Offering half day(Ages 4-7), full day (Ages 8-14) and residential camps. This camp is all about soccer. The core values they work on are Tactical, Technical, Psychological and Physical (and FUN). Registration is going on now.

TCU Baseball Camps : Ages 6 – 14. Jim Schlossnagle Baseball Camps at TCU are designed to help improve the performance of baseball players of all ages and skill levels. Campers will receive instruction from some of the top coaches in the country who care about the betterment of each individual player. Registration is going on now.

Game On Arena Sports Soccer Camps : Ages 5-15.  Best thing about this soccer camp beyond the licensed coaches and fun the kids will have is it is INDOORS! That’s right, air-conditioning. Registration going on now.

Stage West Theatre : Ages 3 -22.  A variety of camps and classes offered for those interested in exploring imagination and creative play, theater and acting.

Music & Arts Camp (First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth) – Preschool Camp (Ages 4 & 5) and Elementary Camp (entering 1st- 6th Grade). Elementary children will experience an awesome week of musical fun led by professional singers, dancers, artists and musicians. FPC once again will offer preschoolers an awesome week of artistic discovery! Children will delight in their new-found musical and artistic talents as they learn, through hands-on experience, the magic of creating music with their voices, drums, chimes, and Orff instruments.

Margo Dean School of Ballet : Ages 3 – 12. A well-known and well-respected ballet school in Fort Worth, Margo Dean will again offer for their ninth season a summer camp focusing on the techniques of ballet (geared to each age and skill level) and teach the students about a classical ballet (TBA).

Stampede Sports Arena in Southlake : Ages 3 -12.  A huge variety of sports camps.  Pigskin Pals (Ages 3-6) introduces American Football to kiddos while there are also specific camps just for soccer and a multi-sport camp which is like an all day recess fun time!

CASA Mañana : Camp Casa (Ages 8 -14) All skill levels to come and participate in professional training of the performing arts. It is a place for beginners to develop their theatrical craft and have fun, as well as a place for the advanced to hone their artisitc skills. In addition to rehearsing and producing a full-length show, campers will take classes in acting, music and dance. This year’s Camp Casa show will be The Music Man, Jr. Music and lyrics by Meredith Wilson, book by Meredith Wilson and Franklin Lacey.

Kids Who Care : Ages 4 – Grade 12. Kids Who Care provides a unique, summer theatre experience to kids who love to perform.  Young artists from across Texas, the United States, and the world participate in Kids Who Care’s musical theatre camps.

School of Rock : Locations in Fort Worth, Southlake/Keller and Mansfield.  Check out your location to find out what they have to offer – I am sure it will be ROCKIN!

Arts Fifth Avenue : Ages 6 -12 years. Classes Monday – Thursday 9am to 5pm with showcase & exhibit on Friday at 6pm.  Classes include: Art, Dance, Choir, Cooking Class, Fitness/Yoga, Music, Theatre and More.

Van Grow Art Studios : Ages 4 and Up (depending upon the class).  A wide variety of art classes to pick from 1 day and 5 day sessions available. 

Theater Arlington : Ages 5 to 16. Summer camps at Theatre Arlington offer a fun and exciting environment in which a young person can grow and learn more about the fascinating world of theater.

Southlake Music Academy : Ages 6 and up. Piano and guitar workshops.


School Camps

Summer University (All Saints’ Episcopal School) : Ages 3 – Grade 12. Summer University at All Saints’ provides summer programs and classes for a variety of ages and interests. The guide is so extensive you’ll have to check it out!

school campsTrinity Valley School Summer CampEntering PreK – Grade 12. Another extensive guide that you need to check out to find what you are looking for! Sports to science to writing.  They have something for everyone.

The Oakridge School Summer Programs : Ages 3 – Grade 12. Located in Arlington, The Oakridge School has families from all over the metroplex enjoying their extensive summer program with lots of options for a variety of interests.

Fort Worth Country Day School : Grades K – 12. FWCD offers a variety of camps and classes during the summer months. Camps and classes are arranged in one- to three-week blocks, and range from half- to full-day. Come for a half-day or choose a morning and afternoon camp to have a full day of fun!

Southwest Christian Academy : Offerings include athletics camps and academic enrichment as well as crafts, acting classes and other fun courses.

Convenant Classical School : Grades 1 -12. Camps will span in activities from sports to arts to academics.

University of Arlington Summer Camps : Grades K – 12.  A wide array of sports, science, engineering and music programs offered.

Pantego Christian Academy Summer Camp : Grades PK – 6. Camp Panther Paw is a great place to have fun in the sun and in the air conditioned building for the summer! Campers will swim, go on field trips, do arts and crafts, play fun games and learn tons of exciting new things.  Available the full 9 weeks of summer.

Fort Worth Academy : Grades 1st – 8th.  Summer camps are part of Fort Worth Academy’s Summer Enrichment program. Each camp is designed to encourage students to develop strong fundamental skills in a selected sport. Most camps follow a week-long, half day schedule.

 TCU Extended Education Summer Camps : Programs for children entering 1st – 12th grade) Summer at TCU is full of fun, learning and more fun! Camps are offered from July 7 – August 8.  Combine half-day camps to make a full day of it at TCU! Camps fill early, so get your spots now! Want to find out more about all the options? Museum & Educational Camps

The BRIT : Camp Brit will offer classes to children ages 4 to 14 with a wide variety of activities and themes to let your child expand their knowledge of the world around them.  Watch the website for more information about registration coming soon!

Destination Science at Messiah Lutheran Classical Academy (Keller) : (Half day and full day) Children entering Kindergarten through 6th grade can experience science as an experimental, exploratory and exciting element and how in the real world we are surrounded by it.

The Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth : The popular Art Camp at the Modern is back! Art Camp is for ages 4 to 14, and Summer Art Study is for ages 15 to 17. This year features an extra week and a camp just for preschoolers! Their volunteer program returns as well, and we are accepting applicants 18 and older.

Museum and Educational CampsKimbell Art Museum : Ages 6-12. Travel to the island nation of Japan to discover the ways of brave and bold samurai warriors. Over the course of five afternoons, campers will explore beautifully crafted helmets, masks, and suits of armor once worn for protection or proudly displayed in spectacular parades.

River Legacy Science Center Summer Classes (Arlington) : A variety of weeklong programs in June and July offer children engaging ways to learn about wildlife, ecology and the environment.  All classes offer time indoors and outdoors exploring and ages 3 – 8th grade are welcome to check out their age-appropriate classes and curriculum.

Fort Worth Zoo : The Fort Worth Zoo’s popular summer camp includes nine weeks of exciting themed adventures for children age 3 to sixth grade, featuring crafts and other wild activities, new technology, animal visitors, and of course, Zoo excursions. Participants can sign-up for any number of weeks they like – one, two or all nine – and Summer Zoo Camp sessions are offered Monday through Friday all summer from June 11 to Aug. 15 (excluding the week of June 30 and mini-camp the week of June 9). Summer Zoo Camp is offered in morning sessions for children age 3 to kindergarten and all-day sessions for first through sixth grade. Please note that all Summer Zoo Camp participants must be fully toilet trained and need no assistance when using the restroom.

Fort Worth Museum of Science and History : Programs for children age 3 to 6th grade will be available this summer at the always fabulous FWMSH.  The class brochure will be posted online on March 28th and a lottery system done on May 1st for classes.

iD Tech Camps (held at TCU) – Ages 7 – 18.  They’re the number #1 tech camp on the planet. The summer technology programs for kids and teens are held at over 80 prestigious universities throughout the U.S., including Texas Christian University.  Classes are small (max of 8 students).  This is the place to be for your kiddo who is a technology nut!

Bob Jones Nature Center (Southlake) : Ages 3 to 11. Cross-timbers Eco-Adventure Day Camp (CEAD Camp) will have your child learning about fascinating science topics through a hands-on, experiential learning based program with acres upon acres of cross-timbers wilderness to explore.  They will have the opportunity to make observations on the trail, share with their peers, ask questions, and search for answers.


Other Camps

Benbrook Stables : Ages 5 and up.  Horsemanship, horse back riding, hiking, hayrides, arts & crafts and MORE! Flexible schedule – come 1 day or multiple days.

Poser Kids Yoga Camp : Ages 4 – 10. Poser Camp is a week-long summer program that challenges children to learn through their bodies (mental wellness) while developing their bodies (physical wellness) in order to empower them to be more successful/confident in every facet of their lives (emotional wellness). Yoga, Biking, Cooking, Music, Art, Fitness, Food & Fun.

Ride with Pride (Southlake) : Ages 5 and up. Horsemanship, horseback riding and lots of fun.

Arlington Parks & Rec Summer Camps : Ages 5 and up.  You will have to check out the Summer Camp guide to believe ALL the varieties of activities offered!

Camp Fort Worth (City of Fot Worth Parks & Community Services) – Ages 5 – 13.  All day camp, open 9 weeks of summer.  Camps held at many participating community centers around Fort Worth.

An INCREDIBLE facility and staff! Established in 1934, it has been the first choice of North Texas families for almost five generations of camper. Join our staff and future campers at one of our exciting (and FREE!) Camp Preview events to sample what Camp Fire Camp El Tesoro has to offer {RSVP ONLINE} Sun. April 27 (Noon – 4pm) and Sat. May 17 (9am -1pm).

Camp Thurman :  Ages 4 to 15.  A day Camp in Pantego with day and evening schedules.  Known for their awesome staff and the abundant activities the children get to experience there.

YMCA Camps : Day Camp at Camp Carter is a great way for children to experience the outdoors and make new friends! Day Camp is for campers between 6 – 12 years old who want to develop new skills, try new activities such as archery, team building, canoeing and much more! Campers get to swim EVERYDAY. Check in as early as 7am, and check out as late as 6pm.

Young Chefs Academy : Ages 4 and up. Many different camps to choose from.  Dabble in Italian cooking, chocolate treats, or even French cuisine!
