Around Cowtown_ Family-Friendly Events June 2016If you’re like us, you cannot believe June is here! How on earth is it summer already? How can we enjoy our precious summer days?!

If you want to keep cool or catch some rays, hit the Forest Park Pool (or one of the other public swimming holes). It opened Memorial Day weekend and will be open 12:30 – 6:30 p.m. from June 6 through August 23. On the subject of pools and water, you might also want to check out Burger’s Lake. Wade in the lake water, have a cookout, or simply bask in the sweet, summer breeze beneath one of the many trees. For a different kind of watery experience, take your kids to splash pads found in the greater Fort Worth area. Do you just want to feel a part of nature? Attend children and family programs at the Fort Worth Botanic Gardens.

Perhaps you want to venture into the Fort Worth Stockyards in June. Head on over to Cowtown Coliseum to watch Pawnee Bill’s Wild West Show! Beginning June 5 and continuing every Saturday for the rest of the month from 4:30 – 5:30 p.m., this show will include trick roping, trick shooting, trick riding, and some good ole’ history with figures from the past reenacted.
