50 Fort Worth Area Kid-Friendly Restaurants

Kid Friendly RestaurantBefore Baby (B.B.), my husband and I LOVED going out to eat. Breakfast, brunch, lunch, dinner, brinner, dessert . . . you name it, and we would go out to EAT it! We especially loved going to The Bearded Lady and Flying Saucer to guzzle down some of the most delicious beers with our food.

When I was about 20 weeks pregnant, we had some friends (who had a one year old) visit us from out of town one weekend. We were ecstatic to show our friends and their little all the fun things Fort Worth has to offer. (We may or may not have been plotting ways to entice them into moving to Texas.) After a full day at the zoo, we were all parched, hungry, and looking forward to a good ol’ Texas meal! The first restaurant we hit, our friends asked if they had high chairs. My husband and I stood there dumbfounded, and I eventually said something like “Ummm . . . I don’t really know . . . let me ask . . . .” Turns out, the restaurant DIDN’T have high chairs, and I had no idea where to go next. Whether or not a restaurant was kid friendly had never crossed my mind. Shouldn’t all restaurants have high chairs? Isn’t that a must have?

My very naive, pre-baby self questioned this. After a couple of failed attempts, we finally found a kid-friendly restaurant. It was quite the adventure, and now, after having my own little one, I realize the importance of having an arsenal of kid-friendly restaurants to choose from when going out to eat.

Below is a list of kid-friendly restaurants in and around Fort Worth; I’ve placed descriptions and some tidbits beside some of my very favorites. 1. How can blue mesa be considered “child friendly” when they do not have a changing table? I visited their new location off west 7th on new years day and wads sorely disappointed. Their university location lacked one too.

  2. Moms can be such jerks. She finds these places child friendly. They’re recommendations, your majesties. You can feel free to bring a changing pad wherever you go, knowing that the world was not built for your convenience. However, all these places are good with kids getting noisy, have finger foods, all the ones I’ve been to are visually pretty interesting for kids. Thanks for the awesome resource, I appreciate that you put it together. It’s nice to have a go to list and I look forward to trying some of the places I haven’t been on this list. ❤️
