Black Cowboys: An American Story

This exhibition at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History features artifacts, photographs and documents depicting the work and skills of Black cowboys. Included with general admission $12 per child, $16 per adult. Runs through April 13.


Butterflies in the Garden

Don’t miss the opportunity to see North Texas’ largest exhibit of live, exotic butterflies at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, now through April 14. Tickets cost $8 per child, $12 per adult, and children ages five and under are free. 


Daily Films at the Isis

Come see classic films Sunday through Thursday theater at the Isis in downtown Fort Worth. Matinée and eight o’clock shows are free with the purchase of a snack and drink. 


Dinosaurs Around the World

Walk among the dinosaurs at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden, now through May 30. Your dino enthusiast will appreciate than the larger-than-life reptiles were designed by a world-renowned paleontologist. Tickets cost $6 per child, $12 per adult, and children ages five and under are free.


Enrichment Programs

Archery, monarchs, and a class called “Eat the Weeds” is all an offer this month at River Legacy Science Center in Arlington. Classes from $15 for kids ages five to 15. 


Kimbell Kids Drop-In Studio

Bring your kids ages 12 and younger every Saturday from 1:00-1:45 p.m. to explore the gallery and do art projects for free! This month’s theme is “Women of the World.” 


POTUS

Get ready to laugh your stars and stripes off while you root for the powerful women who actually run the free world! Performance runs March 7-24 at Stage West Theatre. Tickets from $38 per person.

Family Workshop: Birds of a Feather

At this month’s workshop, children six to 12 years old and their favorite adults learn about birds on the verge of extinction from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. at Amon Carter museum. You’ll peruse an interactive exhibit and create your own bird drawings. Registration required for this free event. 


Texas Independence Day Celebration

Learn about our state’s revolution and independence from 10:00 a.m. to noon at the historic Granbury Courthouse. Doors open at 10:00 a.m. to peruse the exhibits and the celebration begins at 11:00 a.m. This family friendly event is free to the public. 


Toddler Studio: Free as a Bird

A fun-filled morning of toddler-friendly sensory fun at the Amon Carter. Designed for kids ages two to three. 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Free! Reservations required.

Saturday Story Time

Head to the Fort Worth Botanic Garden for a short children’s program from 10:30 to 11:00 a.m., and get a sheet of activities to try in the garden or at home. Designed for ages 18 months to five years, but all are welcome to join. Included with garden admission.

Eco Talk: Bats

Learn how bats play a vital role in our environment during this evening chat with Dr. Victoria Bennett at Grapevine Public Library from 7:00-8:00 p.m.

Out to Play at the Carter

Time to play! Kids up to six years old enjoy the free mobile play space hosted by Out to Play at the Amon Carter museum from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m.

March Dog Days

This weekend is bound to be a doggone good time! Enjoy two full days of hanging out with your pup in the beauty of the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Dog Days will be held during regular Garden hours (8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.), with regular admission for humans and an additional $5 per dog. Hydration stations for dogs will be provided across the campus.


TRWD Flyfest

A celebration of urban fishing along the Clear Fork of the Trinity River. It will have a trout contest, open fishing, kid activities, live music, vendors, and more. 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Free!

Cozy up with a good read every Tuesday and Friday morning, 10:30 a.m., at Monkey and Dog Books in downtown Fort Worth. Someone will read as long as the littles are listening! Free weekly event.

Spring Break Family Workshop

A program for children ages four – 12 and their families, at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Dive into the fascinating world of ancient creatures: dinosaurs! After the program, be sure to visit the Dinosaurs Around the World exhibit in the Garden. Registration for this program includes general admission for the program date.

The Grand Prairie Arts Council presents this optimistic musical that features lyrics and songs by Dolly Parton with a healthy dose of silliness. This is suitable for all ages. Tickets from $20.

Birds are on the brain at Amon Carter’s free play date for children ages three to five and their families. Hear the story Stickler Loves the World by Lane Smith, learn about conceptual sculptures, and explore from 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.


Itty Bitty Art: The Early Bird

You and your infant look, listen, sing, and play with sensory materials inspired by the Amon Carter’s exhibit about birds on the verge of extinction. This free program for children 24 months and younger is from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m.

Funky Finds Spring Fling

Shop small, shop local, shop funky, and shop for all the celebrations! Local vendors will be selling their handcrafted holiday wares (from St Patrick’s Day to graduation) at Will Rogers Memorial Center this weekend. Fundraising benefits Saving Hope Animal Rescue and CASA of Tarrant County.

Homeschool Day: Butterflies in the Garden 

Students get up close and personal with Texas’ favorite pollinator – the butterfly! Kindergarten through 5th grade will learn about the insects adaptions and life cycles from 10:00 to 11:30 a.m.

Nature Adventurers

Preschoolers, ages two and a half to four years old, learn all about snails at River Legacy Science Center in Arlington. Students explore nature and develop math and science process skills. Class costs $25 and starts at 10:00 a.m.

The Big Event

This is a one-day, citywide volunteerism day in Grand Prairie. Get matched with qualifying service projects at homes of people who need help and celebrate unity in the community. 8:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m. Free!

Flourish Fest 

Flourish Fest is a celebration of all that we love about spring, the debut of the first parks and the groundbreaking of the Amenity Center from 11:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. at Karis. Enjoy the Boho Market’s first Crowley event, including a market of talented local artisans, kids corner where the kiddos can explore their creative side, food trucks, beer and wine tasting, and more! 

Girls Nature Workshop 

This series is recommended for ages seven – 12. Registration for this program includes general admission for the program date. In this Girls Nature Workshop, participants will create beautiful butterfly art, learn how butterflies use color to defend against predators, and view butterfly wings under a microscope! From 1:00 – 2:30 p.m.
