The Best Girls’ Weekend in Fort Worth

The girlfriends and I recently enjoyed the most fantastic girls’ weekend in Fort Worth, courtesy of Hilton’s new Texas-Sized Savings program. Hilton’s Texas-Sized Saving summer campaign offers travelers exclusive extra hours and discounts at top attractions and sporting events in major cities across Texas, including San Antonio, Austin, Dallas, Fort Worth, and Houston.

Every now and then mama needs to connect with grown ups and practice some self-care, because to take care of the littles you’ve first got to first take care of yourself. What better way to do that than a weekend with the girls? Hilton made it so easy for us to explore our hometown and provided us with a beautiful room to finish our day.

What to Do in Fort WorthTX Whiskey Distillery

Our girls’ weekend started off with a tour of Whiskey Ranch and the Firestone & Robertson Distilling Co. Jeremy was our tour guide, and we loved hearing all about how TX Whiskey is produced.

We were taught the ABCs of whiskey: A—all whiskey is produced in America; B—it’s all about the barrel; and C—corn is the main ingredient, but other grains can be blended in for taste. We were shown where the whiskey is distilled and how it travels to the room where it’s barreled. Then we got to see the barrel “dorms” where it hangs out for four years until it’s bottled and sold.

The tour also included a tasting. Our guide was feeling generous so we also got to see the hidden whiskey library. If you go on a tour, ask about it! It’s fascinating. There’s a secret room hidden behind barrels between the tavern and the shop and it’s magical. The drinks in the tavern are delish. If you visit in the summer I highly recommend the watermelon sour, but all of the drinks we sampled were divine.

With beautiful views overlooking downtown Fort Worth, Whiskey Ranch is a spectacular venue for not only tours, but also memorable events. The distillery campus can comfortably accommodate both small groups and large groups of several hundred for private & charity events.

Travelers that take advantage of the Texas-Sized Savings deal through Hilton get a free tour and a discount at the store, so the party can continue even when your girl’s weekend is over. happy moms standing together

If whiskey isn’t your cup of tea, Hilton can hook you up with discounts at Community Beer Company, Woodcreek Brewing Company, and other restaurants and bars to help you make the most of your weekend without breaking the bank. This is good news because when mama’s happy the rest of the family is happy as well. Isn’t that how the saying goes?

watching a baseball game

The girlfriends and I took advantage of the partnership Hilton has established with the Texas Rangers and got to catch a Rangers game. We had amazing seats behind first base and felt up close and personal with the players. The stadium vibe was just what we needed to continue our weekend getaway, and the food was out of this world.

Guests of Hilton get to enjoy 50 percent off tickets at select games.

Another Fort Worth Moms partner is Milk + Honey Spa, and if relaxation is the goal of your getaway, Milk + Honey Spa is the way to go! We were pampered with the most lovely pedicures we’ve ever had, and the best part was that we got to enjoy them together at the four-person pedicure station. The staff is friendly and the spa itself is beautiful. It’s also located in The Shops at Clearfork, so you can make it a whole day of shopping, fine dining, and relaxing.

Where to Stay

Hilton Hotel lobby in downtown Fort Worth
Hampton Inn and Suites in downtown Fort Worth

For our girls’ weekend, we stayed at the Hampton Inn and Suites in downtown Fort Worth. The hotel is beautiful with lots of Texas touches so you don’t forget where you are, and the location is perfect. Step outside the hotel, and you’re within walking distance of much of what downtown Fort Worth has to offer, like restaurants and bars, shopping, and art galleries in Sundance Square, or maybe you want to take in a movie, or walk to the Water Gardens. The hotel is also close to big Fort Worth hotspots like the Stockyards and the Fort Worth Zoo.

The hotel has a lovely patio with a firepit and a bar that’s open in the evenings where you can unwind and even play some pool. If you need to work off all the yummy food and drinks you can even go for a swim in their heated, indoor pool or work out in their modern fitness center.

Our stay included a yummy, hot breakfast with everything from eggs, sausage, and omelets to cereal, pastries, and a “make your own” waffle station. It was nice to not have to get up and leave the hotel for breakfast after our night out on the town!

My friends and I had the most amazing weekend. We laughed until it hurt and made so many wonderful memories. Booking is easy and Hilton has done all of the work to help you plan your stay and save money in the process.
