Here’s the good news: We are “just” moms like you. And you, as just-a-mom yourself, know what these “just” moms are capable of. We’re the keeper of the schedules and the traditions . . . the boss and order of operations manager . . . the nurturer and the curator . . . the enforcer and the nutrition specialist . . . the worker bee and the queen. These “just” moms of Fort Worth impact each other, their families, and you-better-believe the entire dang world.
And that’s why we are here: To cheer on other “just” moms like us. The working, stay-at-home, work-from-home moms who are, ahem, just doing their part.

All in a Weekend’s Work
September 6-8 found the executive team (minus a couple) of Fort Worth Moms retreating from our families for a two-night work retreat session. While the hours can be grueling, we work through every department, mapping out the plan for the next 18 months. We think about you — what you might need, what encourages you, what resources you lack, and on and on.
The lovely — and I do mean lovely — Embassy Suites Downtown Fort Worth hosted us for the weekend where we took over the conference room. (While on this topic, do you know how exciting it was to sleep completely uninterrupted in a bed by yourself?) What is so special about this partnership is that Hilton and this Embassy Suites hotel really do care about local women and families in this area and think of what makes your stay more comfortable — whether you are the boardroom boss lady or managing a family staycation. We loved the rooms, the big ol’ breakfast, the evening reception, and the hospitality they extended to us so that we could do our best work.

In addition to the plethora of food Embassy Suites provided, the Fort Worth Moms team enjoyed a cooking class and meal at Sur La Table. Not only was it the perfect start to our retreat (a little team cooking, anyone), the instructor fed our souls as she taught us to feed our bodies with recipes we’d never try at home on our own (but will now!). The next night after hours, and I do mean HOURS, of straight work (made ’em work right through lunch, y’all) Fixe Southern House treated us to a multi-course sampler meal that blew our minds. You know how people say food made with love tastes better? Well, this is exactly what happened. Fixe’s hospitality was outstanding, which made the delicious food even more delightful. Well done!
