Panther Island Ice returns to Coyote Drive-In this holiday season! The outdoor ice skating rink will operate seven days a week now through January 18, 2021, including all holidays. Visitors of Fort Worth’s outdoor skating rink can take advantage of the ample free parking, along with the drive-in’s other amenities such as covered seating, gas heaters, restrooms, and a full menu including beer and wine options.
Tickets are $13 and must be purchased online with an advanced reservation for a 75-minute ice skating session. Panther Pro Tip: Screenshot the ticket QR code(s) and save in a separate album on your mobile device’s camera roll for quick and easy access during the contactless ticket verification with the host! Just want to watch the skaters? Visitors can also observe and snap pics of skaters from around the rink at no charge.
The rink is real ice located mostly under a pavilion. A 200-ton, air-cooled chiller pumps glycol through pipes located underneath the rink. This process helps keep the ice frozen throughout the skating season even in crazy Texas weather. So grab your gloves, warm clothes, and socks (required!). Bundle up when it’s cold, but wear something that you can shed in case you warm up while skating. The rink is covered under a pavilion and operates in nearly all weather conditions.
A movie ticket is not required for guests to enjoy the Coyote Drive-In amenities before, during, and after the ice skating time slot. There are plenty of options at the Coyote Canteen for the whole family including thin crust pizza, hot pretzels, sweet treats, cold drinks, and more. Visitors 21+ can take advantage of the Canteen’s full drink menu including beer and wine options. Make it a full day of fun and add a movie to your trip. Visit Coyote Drive-In for a full list of what is playing including your favorite holiday classics!
Looking for a fun and unique party experience? Private ice skating reservations are available for guests to rent the rink outside of operating hours. Group discounts are available for parties of 15 or more skaters. There are also military discounts available to active duty personnel, guard, reservists, veterans, and their families along with a discount for Tarleton State University students and faculty.
Panther Island Ice is committed to creating a memorable and safe experience for all guests. The health and safety of all team members and patrons is a top priority and a number of protocols will be upheld. The rink capacity has been reduced to 50 percent to allow for social distancing. Skaters must pre-purchase tickets to allow for contactless ticketing. Guests and staff are required to wear a face mask at all times while skating and moving around the venue. To view all the protocols visit the FAQ section on the website.
Panther Island Ice is brought to you by the Tarrant Regional Water District (TRWD). All proceeds benefit Trinity River recreation and programming on Panther Island. Bring the family out and enjoy a winter wonderland experience in the heart of Fort Worth. Make it a fun weekday trip and reserve during off peak times.
