Bowling Alleys – Revisit your own childhood at one of Tarrant County’s bowling alleys! 

  • Alley Cats (Arlington and Hurst) – Drop by one of Alley Cats two DFW locations and enjoy one of the many indoor activities: arcade games, bowling, laser tag, rock climbing, putt putt golf, and more. Check out the site for location specific hours of operation, rates, and events.
  • Bowlero (Watauga) – Host your next kids’ party or social event here, or simply drop in for bowling, arcades, or billiards.
  • Cowtown Bowling Palace (Fort Worth) – Cowtown Bowling Palace is a great place for family bowling, parties, or gatherings for all ages! Open seven days a week.
  • iT’Z USA (Euless) – This indoor, family friendly activity venue will absolutely delight the young and young-at-heart! Take an afternoon to enjoy the bowling lanes, join a game of laser tag, or take a ride in the bumper cars. Tickets must be purchased in person at the park.   • Main Event (locations throughout DFW) – With state-of-the-art bowling, multi-level laser tag, more than 100 games topped with handcrafted food, and a full bar under one roof, Main Event is THE destination for FUN of all ages.
  • Pinstripes (Fort Worth) – With an outdoor patio, bowling lanes, bocce courts, and an Italian-American bistro, the options are endless at Pinstripes at the Shops at Clearfork. 

Celebrations Fort Worth (Fort Worth) – Children’s indoor play and party facility. Enjoy the small city, bounce house, and racetrack with your littles. Age range: one to six.

Cheeky Monkeys (Fort Worth) – Cheeky Monkeys is an “edutainment” soft-play area and kids birthday celebration destination from 10 months to eight years old. 

Crush It! Virtual Sports (Grapevine) – This venue features multi-sport simulators, a dog-friendly patio, food, drinks, and music.

Great Wolf Lodge (Grapevine) – This family friendly venue has something for everyone, including a year-round, indoor water park, Build-a-Bear workshop, ropes course, arts and crafts, evening story time, and so much more. Check out the site for information on accommodations, dining, and rates.   

Gymboree Play & Music (Southlake) – Designed for birth to five years old, Gymboree offers a variety of classes for you and your little to enjoy.  

Kid Mania (Fort Worth, Lewisville) – Founded by a family, for families of all ages, every open hour is filled with fun, healthy food, sweet treats, and always something new to offer from a playground to arcade games. 

Luv 2 Play (Grapevine) – Indoor playground, baby area, toddler area, and more for ages birth – 12. 

Peppa Pig World of Play (Grapevine) – New to north Texas, this expansive interactive indoor theme park is based on the beloved children’s show. Come visit Peppa’s house, explore the sensory garden, and jump in muddy puddles!

Rinks – Enjoy some time on the ice, or gear up for a little rollerskating at one of Tarrant County’s many rinks. 

  • Rollerland West (Fort Worth) – Gather the kids and head to this rink for some great exercise and family time! Sessions are $8 per person, and include admission, skate rental, and tax. The rink is open for public skating on Wednesday and Friday evenings, Saturday afternoons and evenings, and Sunday afternoons. Check the site for exact times!
  • Rollerworld Northeast (Haltom City) – Ready to roll? Rollerworld on highway 377 just might be your jam! This rink is closed on Mondays, but available for private birthday parties on Tuesdays, and open to the public every Wednesday through Sunday. Admission is $6 and skate rental is $4. (Be sure and check out the Wednesday “cheapskate night” rates!)
  • Silver Wheel Skating (White Settlement) – Silver Wheel Skating rink is a blast back in time. This rink has been serving up fun for local skater since 1952! Admission is $10 per person and skate rental is $5 – $7. Check out the website for weekly events and hours of operation.
  • Star Center Ice Rink (various locations in DFW) – Enjoy some time on the ice at one of Star Center’s community ice skating rinks. Admission is $10 (ages four and under are free). Skate rental is $5 or bring your own skates. Group sessions are also available. 

Trampoline Parks – Tarrant County is full of indoor trampoline parks. They all offer playtimes and events for all ages and are great for a party! Find the one closest to you and start jumping.

Fellowship of the Parks Indoor Playground (Haslet and North Fort Worth) – The indoor playgrounds at the Haslet and North Fort Worth campuses are open to the public throughout the week. See the website for available times.  

Playscape at The Hills Church of Christ (North Richland Hills and West Fort Worth) – This indoor, multi-level playground offers two areas of play for preschool and elementary-aged children. 

Treefort at Watermark (Dallas) – Drop by and let your kids explore the massive, wooden “tree fort” playground at Watermark church (you can grab a cuppa from the nearby coffee station while your kids play). The play area is currently closed on weekends, but open to the public, Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m. Please see the website for guidelines.

The Woods at Hyland Park Presbyterian Church (Dallas) –  Here’s a play space just for the littles! Kids ages four and under are welcome to explore the indoor playground at Hyland Park Presbyterian. Community hours are Monday through Friday, 11:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Caregivers must stay with children. 

Botanical Research Institute of Texas | BRIT (Fort Worth) – An international scientific research and learning center focused on conservation and knowledge sharing. The BRIT offers a variety of family-friendly events throughout the week for all ages. 

The Dock Book Shop (Fort Worth) – Delight your young (and not-so-young) book worms with one of this shop’s many events, including book clubs, book signings, summer reading programs, meet-the-author nights, and more.    

Fort Worth Public Libraries – With locations all across Tarrant County, you are sure to find one close to you. Most locations offer story times for littles and activities for teens.

Leaves Book and Tea Shop (Fort Worth) – This delightful shop will satisfy every tea and book lover’s craving for more “leaves!” Indulge in an afternoon browsing and sipping, download your favorite audio books from home, or tune into a virtual story time with your kids. All the available goodness is on the website.   

Monkey and Dog Books (Fort Worth) – Located in quaint, downtown Fort Worth, this cozy local bookstore offers free story times on Wednesdays and Thursdays at 10:30 a.m. for all ages. They will read as long as the crowd allows! Other events throughout the year include game nights, bullet journaling classes, workshops, book clubs, and more.

Museums – Tarrant County is not lacking in the museum department. Check out the following for some cool indoor fun:

River Legacy Living Science Center Discovery Room (Arlington) – The renovated Discovery Room features two large aquariums, all new engaging exhibits, and a 30-foot interactive screen where guests can virtually immerse themselves in woodland habitats and seasons, learn fun facts about wildlife, and play a variety of games. All ages welcome.

SeaLife Aquarium (Grapevine) – With 16 interactive zones, turtle talks, and stingray feeds, your kids are sure to fall in love with animals of the sea! All ages welcome. 

SeaQuest Interactive Aquarium (Fort Worth) – This Texas-sized SeaQuest takes you on an adventure through rainforests, deserts, and the depths of the seas. With exciting exhibits and activities for families and children of all ages, you’ll be able to get wet with the stingrays, feed the toucans, encounter the caimans, marvel at the sharks, take selfies with the snakes, and more.

Artisan Center Theater (Hurst) – As part of its mission to create opportunities to experience uplifting family-friendly theater, Artisan offers a complete program of theatrical education, dance, and performing arts classes throughout the year.

Bass Performance Hall (Fort Worth) – Enjoy Broadway, the Fort Worth Symphony, the ballet, and much more talent right in downtown. 

Casa Mañana Theater (Fort Worth) – Located in the heart of Fort Worth’s cultural district, Casa Mañana brings a taste of Broadway to the local public via the children’s theatre and main stage. 

Granbury Theatre Company (Granbury) – Enroll in the acting academy, grab season passes to Broadway on the Brazos, treat your family to one of the Children’s Seasons performances, or set up an audition for yourself or your child. All this, and more, is available at Granbury’s own Theatre Company.

North Texas Performing Arts (across DFW) – This performing arts venue proudly serves the DFW area with community theatre, camps and lessons, a fine arts conservatory, and an acting company.

Theatre Arlington (Arlington) – Theatre Arlington enhances the quality of life in north Texas by presenting superior, diverse artistic experiences through performance, production, and education.

Upright Theatre Company (Euless) – The Upright Theatre offers performance training and acting opportunities for students ages three years and up. Check out the website for this season’s auditions and shows. 

Art & Soul (Fort Worth) – Why pay a sitter when Art and Soul has you covered? Check out the many creative, indoor activities your kids can enjoy, including Parents’ Night Out art events, day camps, classes, and so much more.

Art Room (Fort Worth) – This nonprofit is on a mission to provide more “room” for the arts in our local community. Check out the website for details on available art camps and classes for kids of all ages (and don’t forget to download a free Art Room activity book, right here).

Cowtown Art Studio (Fort Worth) – Engage your young artists in an array of creative activities at this local studio! Check the website for available events, such as pop up and “free create” events, holiday and seasonal camps, and classes.

Ephemera Terrariums (Fort Worth) – Nurture your green thumb and create your own unique terrarium! Open seven days a week. Check the website for hours and events. 

The Home Depot Kids Workshops (across DFW) – Need a project to keep young hands busy and productive? Swing by the Home Depot on the first Saturday of the month for a kids “drop-in workshop,” from 9:00 a.m. to noon. Visit the site for upcoming workshop themes.

Imagination Station FTW (Fort Worth) – Located near Hulen mall, the Imagination Station is an indoor play space and boutique, designed with both kids and parents in mind. Enjoy boutique shopping and complimentary coffee while your little ones play. 

Kimbell Art Museum (Fort Worth) – Take a look at the family events and drop-in programs at the Kimbell Art Museum. There’s lots to choose from!

LEGOLAND® Discovery Center (Grapevine) – Take your LEGO® lover to explore this theme park with rides, building stations, and more for all ages.

Michaels Kids’ Club (Lake Worth and various DFW locations) – Who better to inspire young artists than an arts and crafts store? Michael’s is ready to mentor kids, ages six years and up, through their Camp Creatology classes. Both virtual and in-store events are available. See the website for dates, themes, and times.    

My Art Studio & Gallery (Fort Worth) – Located near the TCU campus, this innovative studio seeks to be a “bridge between the arts and the public.” Artists of all ages and skills are invited to enjoy seasonal art classes and camps, after school art classes (for kids in first grade through high school), and Saturday drawing and painting lessons. Private lessons are also available.  

Paint ‘n Party (Plano) – Looking for a last-minute art opportunity for the kids? Paint’n Party loves walk-ins! Choose from the wide selection of ceramics, enjoy using the provided art supplies, and then take your creation home. Classes, camps, parties, and reservations are also available.  

Pinspiration (Fort Worth) – Choose from the trendiest Pinterest crafts and ideas and create them at Pinspiration. 

Play Street Museum (Keller & Fort Worth) – Your kids will have fun imagining and pretending in the many interactive exhibits and kid’s activities in this educational play space. Ideal for ages one to eight. 

The PlaySpace (Fort Worth) – Have a doctor appointment? Want a solo trip to the grocery store? The PlaySpace is an hourly, drop-in play care center your kids are sure to love. Designed for ages six weeks to 12 years. 

Play Studio (Fort Worth) – Play Studio is an indoor/outdoor play space for families with children ages birth – eight. The space is inspired by Montessori and the Reggio Emilia approach, where play is valued as learning and the child is respected as capable and competent.

Rogue Brick Builders’ Lounge (Fort Worth) – This is a space for ANYONE who loves LEGO® bricks. One part retail, one part build space for all ages!  

Young Chefs Academy (Fort Worth) – Do you have a kid who loves to cook? Sign up for a camp, a class, host a birthday party, or check out one of its special events. Ages five to 18 welcome. 

The Family Playhouse (Fort Worth and Hurst) – Located at both the Northeast and Ridgmar malls, The Family Playhouse is an indoor playground for kids of all ages. Playgrounds differ by location, but include toddler areas, jungle gyms, a mini basketball area and trampoline, paid open play, and more! Check the website for details on your desired location.  

Grapevine Mills Mall (Grapevine) – Spending the day in historic Grapevine? Be sure and stop by the mall for some family-inspired shopping, events, deals, and amenities

Kiddleton at Hulen Mall (Fort Worth) – With more than 10,000 square feet of play area, the Kiddleton park inside Hulen mall is your one-stop, open-play experience for kids! Freely come and go during your purchased play day. See site for full details. 

North East Mall Play Area (Hurst) – Kids need a break during a busy shopping day? North East mall offers a FREE play area for kids to get rid of some wiggles while parents rest. 

The Parks Mall (Arlington) – The Parks mall is the perfect place to spend the day shopping, grab lunch with your kids, watch a movie at AMC Theater, or enjoy a free seasonal event. Check the website for current hours, events, and more.
