Filled with lacy snowflakes and delectable sweets, The Nutcracker heralds the magic of the season with visions of enchantment and joy. Follow along with the beloved holiday story as Clara travels to the Kingdom of Sweets with her Nutcracker Prince.

Dinosaurs Live! :: The Heard, Dallas. Dinosaur geology, dino trail hike, fossil dig, and more. From 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Closed Mondays. General admission is $9 – $12 Kids two and under are free.


 

Carter Play Date :: Select Saturday each month at the Amon Carter Muesum. This free free program is for children ages three – five and their families. Registration is required.


 

Enrichment Programs :: Select days at River Legacy Science Center, Arlington. For kids ages five – 15. 


 

Family Story Time at Summerglen :: Every Tuesday at Summerglen Library. Join us for stories, songs, and activities in a fun, interactive environment. Intended for children of all ages and their grown-ups.


 

Gentle Yoga :: Fort Worth Botanic Gardens. Registration includes a series of four sessions, December 6 – 27. Classes are from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. 


 

Homeschool Club :: Select Thursdays, at River Legacy Science Center, Arlington. For students five – 11 years old.


 

Holiday at the Arboretum :: Dallas Arboretum. Holiday at the Arboretum begins runs November 9 – January 5 this year. It includes the 12 Days of Christmas outdoor exhibit, a Christmas village of charming shops and façades in the style of European Christmas markets, choirs, tons of lights in the garden, and more. LightScape :: Fort Worth Botanic Garden, November 17, 2023 – January 1, 2024. A holiday light festival for the whole family to enjoy! Tickets start at $11 per person for members, $23 per person for non-members. 


 

The Nutcracker :: Performed by Texas Ballet Theater.  Dallas: Winspear Opera House, November 24 – December 3. Fort Worth: Bass Performance Hall, December 8 – 24. See link for details, times, and cost.


 

Nature School :: River Legacy Science Center, Arlington. Hands-on exploration of nature, indoor and outdoor activities, meaningful opportunities to develop math and science process skills. For kids ages three – five (not yet enrolled in kindergarten, and must be fully toilet trained).


 

Preschool Story Time :: Every Tuesday, 10:30 – 11:15 a.m., at East Regional Library. Stories, songs, and activities to build reading and school readiness skills, social and emotional skills, and community. Preschool Story Time is intended for children three – five years old and their grownups


 

Toddler Tuesdays :: Amon Carter Museum Fort Worth. First Tuesday of the month, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. For kids two and three years of age. Free event, but reservations required.

Spanish Light Art Exhibit :: Meadows Museum, Dallas. Through January 7, 2024, the “Spanish Light: Sorolla in American Collections” collection will be on exhibit at the museum. Tickets are $12 per adult; children and teens (18 years and under) are free.

Cookbook Club :: Indulge Fort Worth. Event begins at 5:00 p.m. A potluck-style gathering, where you all make your food at home beforehand and bring it over to share with everyone! See link for details. 

Meet Me in the Garden :: Reby Cary Youth Library, Fort Worth. The first Saturday of every month is National Play Outside Day! Come out for playtime and a fun outdoor activity from 3:00 – 4:00 p.m. Free event.  

Project WILD Workshop :: Fort Worth Nature Center. From 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Registration is required; cost is $35, plus $6 entrance fee at the door. Workshop participants receive: 6 hours TEA-approved CPE and TEEAC Credit; Project WILD K-12 guide; Texas-specific resources. Bring a lunch, water, and dress for indoor and outdoor learning.

Ukulele Basics :: Fort Worth Public Library, Golden Triangle. Saturdays in December, 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. FREE class. All ages welcome.

Stadium Smash: Epic Pickleball Experience :: Globe Life Field, Arlington. An immersive pickleball experience! The event will feature 20 pickleball courts for open play, clinics and tournaments, plus an in-venue festival with food, beverage, premium entertainment, and more. December 18 – 22.
