We’ve rounded up the best family-friendly events and things to do with kids this November in Fort Worth, Arlington, and all the surrounding areas. Enjoy!

Nishi Fest 2022 Fall Edition

For the superfans: There’s a big anime and Asian pop culture festival at Esports Arena in Arlington today with cosplay contests, meet and greets, panels, exhibitors, merch, and more. Tickets from $37. On-site parking is $10.


NOVEMBER 4 – 6
Q BBQ Fest

AT&T Stadium is the spot for live music all weekend and BBQ made by pitmasters from across the country. Admission is $15; kids 11 and under get in free. Parking is free!


NOVEMBER 4 – 13
James and the Giant Peach, Jr.

Theatre Arlington presents an all-youth musical for ages three and up based on the beloved Roald Dahl classic. Afternoon and evening showtimes available. Tickets from $17.


NOVEMBER 5
Veterans Day Parade

The acclaimed parade returns to Historic Downtown Mansfield followed immediately by a musical patriotic salute. See the link for a parade route map and details on the three new special exhibits in the area. 10:00 a.m. Free!

Flannel Fest

Everyone loves a theme! Outfit the family in flannel and make your way to Bear Creek Park in Keller for live music, beer, vendors, kids’ zone, and much more. 10:00 a.m. – 8:00 p.m. Free! (Residents can purchase entry in the cornhole tournament for $20.)


NOVEMBER 5
Toddler Studio

Do you have a toddler aged two to three? Check out Toddler Studio: You’ve Got a Friend at the Amon Carter Museum. Reservations required. 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Free!

Chalk It Up!

All ages and artists are invited to participate in Bedford’s annual chalk art contest at Harris Ryals Park. The first 75 people to register will receive their own set of chalk, or you can bring your own. Lots of prizes and categories — see details at the link. Registration required. 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. Free!


NOVEMBER 5 – 6
Fall Japanese Festival

This festival at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden includes cultural demonstrations, performances, unique shopping opportunities, and traditional foods. Lots more details at the link, including festival highlights and a schedule of events. 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Tickets $12/adults, $6/children, ages five and under are free.


NOVEMBER 6
Drawing from the Collection for Children

Each month, a different artist takes children ages six and up through informal drawing exercises that relate to works in the Modern’s galleries. Bring your own sketchbook and pencils. Space is limited, so get there early and sign up at the front desk. 2:00 p.m. Kids under 18 are always free, and adult admission is $8 (half price) on Sundays.


NOVEMBER 10
Nature Adventurers: Bats

Nature Adventurers at River Legacy Living Science Center in Arlington is designed for children ages two and a half to five years old with an accompanying parent/caregiver. This month, come for hands-on learning opportunities led by experienced teachers on the subject of bats! 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. $20 for one child/adult pair. $5 for one additional child.


NOVEMBER 10 – 13
The Cowgirl Gathering

The Cowgirl Gathering in the Fort Worth Stockyards is a celebration of spectacular women from all walks of life who embody the spirit of the American Cowgirl. Watch competitors test their skills in breakaway roping, team roping, and barrel racing. The weekend also features empowering female speakers, a fashion show, art show, and more. NOVEMBER 11 – 13
Fort Worth Greek Festival

It’s the 54th annual Greek Festival this weekend! Enjoy authentic Greek meals prepared by local families. Take home baked and frozen foods, including pastries, breads, desserts and ready-to-heat dishes. Admission to the festival is $1. NO CASH.


NOVEMBER 12
Infinity Festival

Explore the latest tech innovations at the Fort Worth Museum of Science and History with hands-on activities, new technology research, technology demonstrations, and expert talks. See additional details at the link, including free parking info for non-members. 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. Included with museum admission.


NOVEMBER 12 & 19
Kimbell Kids Drop-In Studio

This Saturday program introduces children (ages 12 and younger) and their adult companions to fun and inspiring ways to enjoy art together. Each session features a brief gallery activity and a related studio-art project. Space is limited; sign-up begins one hour before the program. Free!

Cool Sounds of Fall

Tonight is the last show of the Burleson Parks & Rec free concert series. Bring your chairs and blankets to Mayor Vera Calvin Plaza and grab dinner from one of the on-site food trucks. Or save a little money and bring a picnic! 7:30 p.m. Free!


NOVEMBER 12 – 13
Hot Wheels Monster Truck Live

Head to Dickie’s Arena for thrilling family entertainment and over-the-top smashing, crashing, and epic monster truck competitions and battles. Tickets from $34/adults, $14/kids.

Fort Worth Zoo 30th Anniversary Festival

Party at the zoo with live musical acts throughout the park, photo ops, strolling characters, giveaways (while supplies last), and themed animal enrichment activities across the zoo. Admission is half-price all day.

Itty-Bitty Art and Carter Playdate

The Amon Carter Museum offers two programs for little ones today, with activities centered around Speaking with Light: Contemporary Indigenous Photography. Itty-Bitty Art: Together Time is for children 24 months and younger and a caregiver from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Carter Playdate: Lean on Me is for ages three to five from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Reservations are required for both. Free!


NOVEMBER 19 – 20
Funky Finds Holiday Shopping Experience

Shop small, shop local, shop funky. More than 180 local vendors will be selling their handcrafted wares at Will Rogers Memorial Center this weekend. Fundraising benefits Saving Hope Animal Rescue and DFW Toys for Tots. Bring a donation and receive a free raffle ticket — donation details at the link. Free!


NOVEMBER 21 – 22
Fall Zoo Camp

Need a place for the kiddos to go during Thanksgiving break? Kids ages five through 10 can learn about nature and wildlife conservation at the Fort Worth Zoo through outdoor play and interactive experiences. Register early! 9:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. with extended care available. $85 per day (10 percent discount for members).


NOVEMBER 24
YMCA Turkey Trot

Work off your turkey dinner in advance at the Fort Worth YMCA Turkey Trot. And it’s more than just a race — 100 percent of proceeds go towards scholarships for families in our community. 8:00 a.m. See link for various registration prices.

My Fair Lady

Bass Concert Hall presents the touring Broadway production of My Fair Lady. Tickets start at $44.
