I just love books. It's a big, fat, delicious kind of love. I love the smell of them. I love the texture of the pages. I love how the feel of the pages evolves as a brand new book...
Then I had my first baby. And you know what I found? Breastfeeding was so hard. Physically hard. Emotionally hard. That baby had a terrible latch. I couldn't pump enough milk to cover the bottom of a bottle. I was exhausted and hormonal. And I knew that all of those breastfeeding supplies meant nothing if I didn't have the one thing I really needed . . . a healthy dose of plain old stubbornness. 
In that time, I learned a few tricks of the trade to help children working through big feelings, whether those feelings were triggered because you didn’t cut up the apples the right way or because your child is wrestling with anxiety.
I am sharing this with you because it is absolutely imperative that your child continue practicing their reading and writing every single day over the summer break to maintain (at minimum), their current reading and writing level
