Giddings :: Road Trips from Fort Worth

A small town of about 5,000 people located between Austin and Houston with lots of charming small towns nearby, Giddings is the perfect place for a day trip for any nature lover, history lover, or someone just passing through.

What to Do

911 Memorial // Beams from the World Trade Center are the center of this beautiful memorial.

City murals // Painted on the sides of many of the old downtown buildings, nine magnificent murals color and tell the story of the city. You can find an answer key for all the hidden images in the mural located at the post office here.

Historical markers // Walk or drive around town and find all of the city’s historical markers. Here is a list of all of them in Lee County.

Giddings Public Library and Cultural Center // Home to hundreds of books and multiple displays, including the largest arrowhead collection in Texas, the Giddings Library and Cultural Center is a must-see for anyone wanting to learn more about the area.

Outlaw BBQ // Sadly only open on Friday and Saturday, Outlaw serves up Texas-style BBQ with an Outlaw flare.
