Where to Stay

Captain’s  House on the Lake // Captain’s House On The Lake is a historic bed and breakfast with lakefront access and views of Lake Granbury. Downtown Granbury is only a few minutes walk away. The Captain’s House on the Lake is one of the few remaining large homes built in Granbury prior to 1900 that has not been rebuilt. The home is the only historic landmark operating as a bed and breakfast on Lake Granbury.

What to Eat

Babe’s Chicken Dinner House // This Babe’s Chicken Dinner House is unique in that the building it operates was built around 1917 and originally sold Ford Model Ts. It was also the first auto dealer in Granbury. This is a great place to bring the family for a yummy meal!

Christina’s Bistro // Enjoy sandwiches, homemade soups, salads and fresh desserts at this intimate bistro located on the historic square. Don’t forget to ask about Chef Gary’s daily special!

Farina’s Wine Bar & Café // This wine bar and cafe is located in the heart of downtown. Enjoy brunch, lunch, and dinner with a wide selection of wine and beer. Private party reservations are available.

Grumps Burgers // Grumps is a fun, delicious restaurant with a casual atmosphere. Enjoy the party pavilion, a rustic outdoor venue perfect for birthday parties, reunions, graduations, and more. Menu options include burgers, sandwiches, salads, and a kids menu.

Mesquite Pit // Mesquite Pit specialize in mesquite-grilled steaks and BBQ, seafood, family food and classic American favorites, including great cheeseburgers. 

Stumpy’s Lakeside Grill // Dine at this family friendly restaurant with a fun atmosphere, friendly staff, tasty margaritas and bottomless complimentary chips & salsa right on Lake Granbury. The menu includes seafood, burgers, and tacos. 

What to Do

Barking Rocks Winery // Nestled just around the corner from downtown Granbury, Barking Rocks winery is a casual and quaint winery. Its wines are handcrafted using premier grape varieties grown in Texas.

Granbury City Beach// The city beach is located in the heart of town on Lake Granbury. It includes a splash park, kayak rentals in the summer, and a thatched roof picnic pavilions. The beach is within walking distance to the downtown square, where there’s plenty of places to eat and shop. 

Beachside Toys & Takeout // You won’t be bored after renting a board from Beachside Toys & Takeout, which offers rentals for kayaks, paddle boards, tubes, bicycles, and surreys. It also has variety of refreshing snacks after or before your adventure.

Granbury Opera House // The Granbury Opera House produces live musicals and stage plays. Its Broadway on the Brazos season consists of nine productions a year, each running 12 to 24 performances. Throughout the year, watch live concerts that cater to a broad range of musical tastes and interests.

Granbury Town Square // No matter the time of year, downtown Granbury offers great shopping and friendly locals. There’s often live entertainment and festivals, so check out the calendar before booking a trip. 

Hood County Jail and Historical Museum // See a piece of history at the Hood County Jail. Built in 1885 and operated as the Hood County Jail from 1886 to 1978, this building served as the only jail for both city and county prisoners.

Revolver Brewery // This brewery has a chill, outdoor atmosphere with delicious beer. This adult-only brewery offers tastings and often has live music with outdoor games, picnic tables, and food.
