As we continue to navigate through this pandemic, our celebrations have become some of the most creative events known to man. In this last year we have perfected virtual events, intimate affairs, and outdoor gatherings.

Typically this time of year, many of us would put on our Sunday’s best and gather together at churches to celebrate Easter. But our families will be celebrating Easter differently, like we have all celebrations this past year.

Here are some Easter activities and crafts you can do with your family that are safe and fun.

Easter egg hunt: What kid doesn’t love running through your backyard searching for candy filled eggs?! If the weather permits, plan an egg hunt in your yard for your littles. The Dollar Tree has an extensive Easter/spring section where you can get all the plastic eggs and candy your heart desires.

Serve pancakes on Easter.Easter brunch: Our family always serves up Easter Bunny pancakes, scrambled eggs, sausage links, and orange juice. My daughter absolutely loves pancakes and pancakes made into different shapes makes everything even more exciting. Check out these cookie cutters from Amazon to make your pancakes and/or cookies.

Bowling and Brunch: If cooking isn’t your thing, you can strike out at Pinstripes in Fort Worth for their Easter Brunch including smoked salmon pizza, slow roasted prime ribs, and bunny waffles for the littles. After your done eating, spend some time bowling with the family.

Cookie decorating: Refer back to those cookie cutters, purchase your favorite cookie dough or make your own, and add frosting and festive sprinkles to make some amazing sweet treats!

Easter sponge stamping: Pinterest never fails when it comes to crafts for your kiddos. Outline an Easter bunny, carrot, and egg with a black marker onto cleaning sponges. Cut out along the line to make sponge stamps. With your favorite spring paint colors, pour the paint on a paper plate, and use the sponges to dip into the paint. Finally, stamp on construction paper.

My favorite thing is to take Easter pictures of my daughter.Easter pictures: I absolutely love getting my daughter all dressed up in her Easter dress and taking photos. I purchased an Easter backdrop a couple years ago from Amazon. With a few Command strips I put the backdrop on a blank wall and put a cute, white, fuzzy blanket on the floor for her to sit on, and we snap away! I’ve gotten some of my best photos of her with this backdrop. Check it out here.

Around Cowtown. Don’t miss the 2021 Guide to Easter Events. It has a plethora of activities for children of all ages in the Tarrant County area. From egg hunts to pictures with the Easter bunny, you’ll find something fun for the whole family.

I hope these Easter activities and ideas allow you to spend quality time with your family and those you love on this special holiday. I’m sure that we all just wish we could go back to our pre-COVID-19 days when life was a little simpler, but we’re here, surviving, and thriving!
