It’s almost Halloween – which means we’ll soon start to see cooler temperatures, cute costumes, and sweets! One of my favorite things to do to celebrate Halloween is to make these “spooky” chocolate chalkboards with my son – they are so cute and super easy to make. Connor is learning how to write letters, so I let him help me draw out the letters in the chocolate too! All you need for these snacks are some Hershey bars, caramels, powdered sugar, sprinkles, and a toothpick.
First, I laid out my chocolate bars.
Then line the outsides with the rolled-out caramel & lightly draw a design inside the chalkboard using a toothpick.
Then sprinkle over the etching with powdered sugar. Lightly dust off the extra sugar and wipe away with wet paper towel if needed.
Add some sprinkles, and you have your chalkboard!
We like to wrap them up in cellophane bags with a cute ribbon as a sweet treat for Halloween. They are a great gift for teachers and friends or a surprise in your child’s lunch box!
