7 Events to Celebrate Grandparent’s Day in the Fort Worth Area

That weekend provides a great opportunity to love on grandparents and special friends by spending quality time with them. Below are local events and other resources related to these awesome people who enrich our lives. Be sure to check your school calendar for Grandparent’s Day events as well!

1. Brunch Bingo

Bring the grandparents to Brunch Buffet and Bingo at Chicken N Pickle in Grand Prairie on Sunday, September 8! Bingo is free to join, starting at 11:00 a.m. The brunch buffet is $20.99 for adults, and $9.99 for kids. Afterward, enjoy some friendly competition on the pickleball court or at the yard games, like cornhole and giant battleship. 

2. Grandparent’s Day Brunch 

On Saturday, September 14, from 10:00 – 11:30 a.m., grandparents and their grandchildren can attend this Grandparent’s Day Brunch at First Methodist Church in Midlothian. There will be light bites, fellowship, and photo opportunities. 

3. Grandparent’s Day Photos at Gymboree

On Saturday, September 7, from 9:00 a.m. – 1:00 p.m., children six years old and under can bring their grandparents to Grandparent’s Day photos at Gymboree Play & Music in Southlake. There will be a back drop provided for photos and playtime. One digital photo is free with the option to order more. This event is free for members and first timers. Otherwise, it costs $40 per class.

4. Jump & Jams

Jump & Jams at the north Fort Worth campus of Fellowship of the Parks is perfect for the groovy grandparent! Grandparents and grandkids will love the “Silent Disco,” where you control the music you hear for the ultimate dance party, on Saturday, September 7, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. This free indoor event will have inflatables, laser tag, a movie room, and concessions. 

5. Kids Club Puppet Show

Bring the grandparents to this free event at Pinstripes in Fort Worth on Saturday, September 7 at 9:00 a.m. Everyone can enjoy the Kids Club Puppet Show and then brunch afterward. Bonus — kids get a complimentary brunch voucher! Stay for bowling or bocce ball to make a day of it.

6. Teddy Bear Tea at The Ashton Depot

Grandma and the grand babies dress their best (hats are encouraged!), and grab their favorite stuffed animals for Teddy Bear Tea at The Ashton Depot in downtown Fort Worth. On Saturday, September 7 at 2:00 p.m., guests will enjoy live music, three plated courses, choice of tea, and bottomless champagne or sparkling cider. High tea for adults is $75/person, and teddy bear tea for children ages 12 and under is $55/person.

7. Touch a Truck

Stop by the parking lot of Second Op Resale Shop in Fort Worth between 10:00 a.m. and noon for Touch a Truck on Saturday, September 7. Kids can play on more than 15 trucks and construction vehicles. There will even be a helicopter! Food trucks will also be on site. A donation of $20 per family is requested.
