Welcome to the first ever (and hopefully last) “Ultimate Guide to Teacher Appreciation During a Pandemic.” (Now, there’s a sentence we never thought we’d type.) Although the coronavirus pandemic changed the way we do school, it does not change the impact teachers made and are still making for our kids this school year.
Teachers are the unsung heroes of our society. They bring smiles and hugs and joy and energy and relentless patience to our babies every day. Here are a few reasons why I think kindergarten teachers pretty much hung the moon.
I encourage you to really evaluate your appreciation for your child’s teachers and appropriately express your gratitude. This can come in many forms. You might go to the school principal and articulate your positive experience with that teacher. Or you could buy flowers or a gift card or, perhaps, write a heartfelt note. Whatever it is, I am sure that teacher will be grateful for your acknowledgement.
I know you say that my son is a blessing, but, honestly, you too are a blessing to our lives in so many ways. My son truly does adore you and all that you do. Thank you for being understanding when his moods are all over the place, or when he doesn't have on his listening ears. You have made us feel more than welcomed in our first year at a new school.
