A Cowtown Spring Bucket List

It’s just about time for some spring fun!  As with the turning of most seasons, there are things I love to do with my family, however rarely do I actually take the time to write them down.  Today I present to you a spring bucket list to be enjoyed right here in Fort Worth.

1.  Picnic at Trinity Park and wear ourselves out on the playground as nap time prep.  Not only is this a huge park, but it’s right in the heart of our city, right on the banks of the Trinity River.  And let’s be real, my “picnic” still counts if the food is handed to me through a drive thru.

2.  Go to a TCU baseball game.  My husband and I are maroon-bleeding-Fightin’ Texas Aggies, however, we find it totally acceptable to cheer for the hometown boys when our own Aggie titles are not at stake.  If you’ve never taken in a TCU baseball game, they’re fun, close by, and get your kids really close to the field action.

3.  “Egg” our neighbors.  Much like the “BOO” fun at Halloween, I think my little guy will have a blast hiding a few eggs for some neighbor friends.  I love that the resource I linked to includes the teaching of Jesus and the empty tomb, plus a great printable!

4.  Celebrity watch at Joe T’s during the Colonial Crowne Plaza Invitational.  You never know who might be in town that weekend, and where better to watch than this Fort Worth landmark.

5.  Supper at a Food Truck Park.  Will we choose Clear Fork or Fort Worth Food Truck Park?  That’s a tough one!

6.  Visit a Farmer’s Market.  This is the perfect time to get out on a Saturday morning and grab some locally grown and made goods.

7.  Ride a choo choo train.  At the Park, at the Zoo—anywhere we can find this boy a choo choo train.  We are train obsessed!

8.  Have friends over for a cookout under a beautiful Texas spring evening.  It’s been far too long since we fired up the grill.  As much fun as it is to hang out at the Central Market patio, it’s even more fun to watch our kids roll across the yard after supper.

9.  Take in the Main Street Arts Festival.  If you’ve never been, you must try it at least once.  Great food, entertainment, amazing arts and crafts, set in our beautiful downtown Cowtown.  On a nice weekend, this will make a wonderful family memory.

10. Gather friends for a movie at the Coyote Drive In.

These days, Emily spends her time exploring our fair city with her babes in tow, volunteering at her church, cheering on the Fightin' Texas Aggies, and shopping her way through DFW at large.
