Fort Worth Skateboard Parks and Shops

Skateboarding with kids is a great activity.

There are many excellent skateboard parks and shops throughout DFW. Here is a roundup of our favorite ones local to Cowtown!

Skateboard Parks

Action Park Alliance :: Fort Worth :: Offering skate camps and lessons, this skate park in Grand Prairie offers plenty of skate options with covered areas keeping you out of the Texas sun. Note: It is free to Grand Prairie residents, but non-residents must pay $10 for a day pass. 

Chisholm Trail Skate Park :: Fort Worth :: Fort Worth’s first public skate park has several different features and terrain types. There is a large pavilion for you to cool down and rest between trick runs. 

Diamond Hill Skate Park :: Fort Worth :: This is a smaller park with only a few ramps located in North Side. It is great for younger or amateur skaters with skateboards or scooters.

Fire Station Skate Plaza :: Fort Worth :: This beautiful, massive skate park in Near Southside opened in late 2023. There are many different features including a pump track. Bikes, scooters, and in-line skates are all welcome. With sidewalks and green space, this is a great space for viewers as well as skaters. 

Lake Worth Skate Park :: Lake Worth :: Located in Lake Worth Park, this is a good-sized park with different structures. The park also has walking trails and a playground, making it a great spot to spend the day with kids of all ages.  

Marine Skate Park :: Fort Worth :: Here is another smaller park located in North Side — ideal for all levels with skateboards or scooters.

Oakland Lake Skate Park :: Fort Worth :: You’ll find this neighborhood skate park in East Fort Worth. With several ramps and railings, this is a great place to practice different skills.

Roanoke Skate Park :: Roanoke :: Head north to the “Unique Dining Capital of Texas” for an equally unique skate park designed in collaboration with high school students. There are areas for all skater levels. Additionally, the city of Roanoke hosts many skate classes and camps year round.

Skateboard Shops

Magnolia Skate Shop :: Fort Worth :: This Magnolia Avenue shop has all you need, from boards to apparel. It also has its own merchandise. Fun fact: The folks at Magnolia Skate Shop were instrumental in getting Fire Station Skate Plaza built by raising funds and attending community meetings. 

The Point Skate Shop :: multiple locations :: The Point has a few DFW locations, Roanoke being the closest one to Fort Worth. This shop provides apparel, shoes, safety gear, and more. It also has indoor skate lessons for all ages.

Rhythm Skate Shop :: Grand Prairie :: This skate shop in Action Park Grand Prairie has plenty of skate accessories from bags and shoes to wheels and boards. 

Zumiez :: multiple locations :: There are several DFW locations of this skateboard shop chain. It has extensive inventory, including a great kids clothing selection and skate/snow board accessories.

Originally from Baton Rouge, Louisiana, Sarah met her husband in college where they were both pursuing music degrees. After several fast-paced years in New York City, they settled in the Fort Worth area in 2013. Their greatest adventure began in early 2019 with the birth of their daughter Eleanor. Sarah currently works in the real estate industry. She enjoys practicing yoga, watching "bad" tv, perusing restaurant menus online, and pretending she can cook and host like the Barefoot Contessa.

  1. There is a women’s ministry speaker from Capstone Church Benbrook named Mrs Mc Gee who the Lord showed me while she was standing at the alter that God is positioning her for a Skateboard Ministry with Children and Youth. Please send her a list of places she can take them to.
