Spring is finally in full swing, and school is so close to being out! Enjoy some wonderful outdoor activities and get your kids moving. Mayfest, the Colonial Golf Tournament, composting, farmers markets, and more are the events that make the beginning of spring. If the outdoors aren’t your thing, there is plenty to do inside! The Little Mermaid at Casa Mañana, Alice in Wonderland at the ballet, and storytime are sure to bring some imagination and creativity to your little ones.
For the Mamas, we have something exciting in store: Bloom :: An Event for New & Expecting Moms. Bloom, happening May 20, 2017 from 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. at Cook Children’s Medical Center, is an event for expectant moms and moms who are currently parenting children two years and under. (Foster and adoptive moms are welcome too!) The afternoon will focus on information, resources, products, and more that target the pregnancy and delivery stage of parenting through the first two years. This event, held in partnership with Cook Children’s Health Care System, will provide a few hours of pampering, light snacks, educational resources, giveaways and swag, shopping, and connecting moms and families with relevant local resources for this season of life.

Disney’s The Little Mermaid — Every day except Monday, 7:00 p.m. // See your favorite underwater princess come to life on stage at Casa Manana. Join Sebastian, Scuttle, and Flounder as Ariel tries to get her voice back from the evil sea witch Ursula!
May 4-7
Mayfest — Thursday and Friday 4:30 – 9:00 p.m.; Saturday 10:00 a.m. – 9:30 p.m.; Sunday 11:00 a.m. – 7:00 p.m. // Four days of live music, carnival rides, performing arts, food, art and gift market vendors, free children’s activities, special attractions, and more! During the first weekend in May, don’t miss Mayfest in Trinity park.
May 7-28
Cowtown Coliseum’s – Pawnee Bill’s Wild West Show!! — Every Sunday at 2:30 and 4:30 p.m. // Round up your kids and enjoy a reenactment of the original Pawnee Bill’s Wild West show! Fun for the entire family featuring animals, spectacular performers with ropes, bullwhips, pistols, and even a singing cowboy.
May 19-21
Texas Ballet Theatre Presents: Alice in Wonderland — Friday at 8:00 p.m., Saturday, and Sunday at 2:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. // See all of your favorite characters, the caterpillar, the Cheshire cat, the white rabbit, and more, as Alice falls down the rabbit hole. A wonderful ballet for all ages that whole family is sure to love.

Colonial Golf Tournament — See some pro golf at the Dean & DeLuca Invitational held at the Colonial Country Club. Some Fort Worth favorites will once again grace the green. Don’t miss out!

Animal Exploration — 11:00 – 11:45 a.m. // Discover the habits and adaptations of a native animal during a live animal observation with a River Legacy Naturalist.

Strider Cup Race — 8:00 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. // Strider Cup races are the highest level national Strider sanctioned races that give small children and people with special needs a chance to put their Strider Balance Bike skills to the test. This race is for children 2-5 years old who want to experience the thrill of racing.
Rockfest Farmers Market — 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m. // ROCK Farmers Market Buyers Club hosts 25+ local farmers and vendors, live music, food trucks, Holy Kombucha on tap, a petting zoo for the kids, and more. Come get some of the freshest, high-quality food in the area!

Backyard Composting — 9:00 – 11:00 a.m. // Teach your young kids about the importance of keeping the Earth green through composting at the River Legacy Living Science Center.
Nature Walk — 2:00 – 3:00 p.m. // Explore the nature trails surrounding the River Legacy Living Science Center on a guided Nature Walk.
May 13
Prarie Day — 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. // Prairie Day at BRIT is a family-friendly, annual festival that celebrates Fort Worth’s natural resources and native prairie heritage. Come see live bird and reptile shows, nature walks, arts and crafts, face painting, and live music from Texas musicians.
NorthPark Center Presents: ArtROCKS! featuring Monet — 1:00 – 4:00 p.m. // Discover Monet’s inspiration behind his famous Water Lilies and other paintings. Kids can create their own art, decorate cookies, and dance to music by DJ Jose G.
May 15
Saturday Story Time — 11:00 a.m. // Children of all ages are invited to listen to fun, seasonal stories presented by a librarian from Arlington Public Libraries. A craft or activity will follow storytime.
May 20
Bloom :: An Event for New & Expecting Moms — 2:00 – 5:00 p.m. // Join us at Cook Children’s Medical Center for a fun afternoon of vendors, workshops, swag, and, of course, giveaways! Get all the information a new mother could possibly need all in one place.
