Cotton Belt Excursion :: Cotton Belt Depot
Weekends

Visitors of all ages step back in time as they ride the Grapevine Vintage Railroad to the Fort Worth Stockyards and back. All aboard from 12:30 – 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $18 – $72 per person.


Fort Worth Herd Cattle Drive :: Fort Worth Stockyards
Daily

Visitors of all ages experience cattle drives with real cowboys and cows. The free drives run twice daily at 11:30 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. 


Heroes & Villains: The Art of the Disney Costume :: Arlington Museum of Art
Daily

Gaze at 300 Disney costumes from iconic heroes and villains on display through March 2025. Reserve a time slot from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. Tickets are $37 for adults, and $12 – $32 for kids.


Kimbell Kids Drop-In Studio :: Kimbell Art Museum
Saturdays

Kids ages 12 and younger (plus adult companions) enjoy free gallery exploration and studio art projects from 1:00 – 1:45 p.m. This month’s theme is “Giddy Up!”


Music and Movement :: Fort Worth Public Library – East Regional
Saturdays

Macroscopic Marvels: The Hidden Superheros in our World :: River Legacy Nature Center

Kids ages 12 and up learn about the bugs in our ecosystem and their significance to the local environment from 1:00 – 2:00 p.m. Admission is free.

Toddler Studio: Shape Party :: Amon Carter Museum of American Art

Toddlers ages 2 – 3 sing and play with shapes inspired by artwork at the museum from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. Admission is free.

Drawing from the Collection for Children :: Modern Art Museum of Fort Worth

Young artists ages 5 – 12 are led through drawing exercises by a professional artist at 2:00 p.m. Bring your own sketchbook and pencils. Arrive early to sign up for a spot.

Pictures and Pages :: Kimbell Art Museum

Fill your morning with free stories and creative play in either English or Spanish. Kids ages 4 – 6 can attend with their adult companion from 10:30 – 11:30 a.m.

Kids Club at Pinstripes :: Fort Worth

First Saturdays are reserved for children of all ages from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. Participants enjoy free themed activities and get a same-day discount voucher for brunch.

Tween Make It Monday Take Home Craft :: Haltom City Public Library

Tweens in grades 2 – 6 pick up a free craft kit to take home and put together while supplies last.

Kids ages 2.5 – 4 go on a turtle-themed nature adventure in Arlington beginning at 10:00 a.m. Admission is $25. Enroll online.

Carter Playdate: Spread the Word :: Amon Carter Museum of American Art

Kids ages 3 – 5 and their families hear a story, learn about sculptures, and build their own from 11:30 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. Admission is free, but reservations are required.

Itty-Bitty Art: Word Play :: Amon Carter Museum of American Art

Children ages 24 months and younger develop spatial awareness and motor skills through songs and play from 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Reservations are required for this free event.

Make & Take: French Marcarons :: Central Market Fort Worth

Kids ages 13 and up prepare French macarons in a small group from 12:00 – 3:00 p.m. Tickets are $85 per person.

Amanda
Amanda entered the world of publishing while selling newspaper ads in Denver. She currently serves as an editorial contributor to homegrown publications as well as reviews creative writing for a literary journal based in Baltimore.
