Boards and Broads {FWMB Team Meeting Recap}

Never ever could anyone say that a Fort Worth Moms Blog (FWMB) team meeting was boring. Full of boards? And broads? Yes, that is correct this time.

For our spring team meeting, we met up at Board & Brush Creative Studio Fort Worth, which graciously hosted us for an evening project. We only meet all together four times per year, so when it happens, it is really special.

We kicked off our time together eating yummy bar-b-que and sipping some wine, a.k.a. the best way to prepare for crafts. While we munched, the quarterly business meeting took place. Some highlights included a few stats we’re pretty proud of: More than 6,000 moms and dads across the Tarrant County area are members of our Neighbor Groups.

These groups exist to build community online and offline among local parents. From regional groups (betting there’s one near you) to topical groups (like adoptive moms and food allergy moms), Neighbor Groups offer regular meet-ups, online discussion, and a tighter connection to the Fort Worth Moms community. And it doesn’t hurt that there are special perks and giveaways every now and again. If you’re not a Neighbor Group member, check out all our options HERE.

(By the way: Fort Worth Moms is looking for a few new Neighbor Group leaders. If you are interested in joining our team, visit this website page: https://fwmoms.com/neighbor-group-partners/.)

The rest of our wonderful evening was spent creating the most darling signs ever. Board and Brush Creative Studio staff not only did a fabulous job teaching — some of us are more crafty than others — but also made us feel incredibly welcome. Board and Brush offers classes and parties for any level of DIY-er. These wood sign workshops take you step-by-step as you create a custom sign with that vintage and classic look. Board and Brush offers pre-set classes each month, but you can also schedule your own moms’ night out or birthday party for your little crafter.

The finished products were definitely something we could display in our homes. In fact, I noticed something about the sign selections . . . not just those our team members chose, but what Board and Brush has available. Every one of the signs selected by our team members was focused either on hospitality or encouragment. I think this is a testament to the type of selfless women who make up FWMB and the type of messages Board and Brush is about. It’s means something to decorate your space with uplifting mantras. That “welcome” and “gather” go a long way.
