FWMB Guide to “Kids Eat Free” in Fort Worth

Kids Eat Free - Fort WorthWe’ve all been there: It’s 4:30 in the afternoon, and the idea of cooking dinner couldn’t be less appealing. Or you haven’t left the house all day and swear if you don’t have a change of scenery before you go to bed, you’ll have a quantifiable nervous breakdown.

Dining out can get crazy expensive (not to mention wasteful) when kids are involved. I am quickly learning why my parents took us to restaurants so infrequently.

Luckily, there are some good spots in Fort Worth where kids can eat for free (or close to it). Below you’ll find a listing of what restaurants offer free/reduced kids’ meals on each day of the week. If you know of one that isn’t listed, please comment so it can be added!

Every Day

Texas de Brazil
Children 2 and under–complimentary. Children 3-5 years–$5. Children 6-12 years–50 percent off regular dinner price. All day, every day. I’m going to have to try this one with our 3.5 year old. Meat on swords = dinner AND entertainment. Yes.

Cafe Brazil
Sunday – Thursday, 5:00 – 10:00 p.m., kids 12 and under get a free kids’ entree with purchase of an adult entree. Really good (bottomless!) coffee.

Cici’s Pizza
Free kids meal with purchase of an adult meal; ages 3 and younger. Two words: Dessert. Pizza. Our daughter thinks her date night with Daddy at the pizza buffet is absolute heaven.

IHOP
Every day from 4:00 – 10:00 p.m. One child free per adult meal purchased. Pancakes for dinner! Everyone wins.

Sunday

Blue Mesa Grill
Sunday brunch, 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. — kids 5 & under eat free with purchase of adult brunch. Kids ages 6-10 eat for $6.95. Adult buffet price includes mimosas. Just saying.

Simply Fondue
Kids 12 and under eat free with purchase of an adult Chef Special. One child free per adult meal. Another one with built in entertainment!

Hard Eight BBQ (Roanoke)
Kids 10 and younger eat free all day with the purchase of an adult entree.

Tuesday

McAlister’s Deli
Free kids’ meal with purchase of adult entree after 5:00 p.m. ($0.99 kids’ meals available with adult entree daily.) Dine in only. Helloooo giant-cup-of-sweet-tea-pick-me-up.

Black Eyed Pea
With the purchase of every adult entree, a meal from the kids’ menu is free; ages 12 and under. It lessens the guilt if it’s homestyle, and they eat their veggies.

Kelly
Kelly has called Fort Worth home since April 2006 when she moved here to start her life with her then-fiance. Married for 8.5 years, they have a fiery, curly-headed three-year old daughter (January 2012) whose personality matches the size of her hair when she wakes up (BIG). Kelly is a full-time mom and wife and works at home as a freelance graphic/web/communications designer. In her kid-free time, she can be found crafting just about anything, unwinding with a glass of wine and a magazine, meeting girlfriends to catch up, or binge-watching TV shows on Netflix with her husband.
