Karis :: Pick of the Patch

Come out on October 28, from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., and celebrate Crowley’s newest community, Karis, at the Pick of the Patch home tour! Pick a pumpkin from the patch and enjoy fall festivities while you pick out your new home. Tour five stunning model homes and find your dream home from the ones that are move-in ready! Shop at an artisan market, visit the petting zoo, get your face painted, or enjoy food truck fare.

Bella’s Book and Nature Club :: First Wednesday of the month at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Discuss nature, read a story, sing and move, plus enjoy a family nature challenge! For children ages 18 months – five years and their families.


 

Family Story Time at Summerglen :: Every Tuesday at Summerglen Library. Join us for stories, songs, and activities in a fun, interactive environment. Intended for children of all ages and their grown-ups.


 

Florigami in the Garden :: Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Included with general admission. September 2023 – March 2024.


 

Fright Fest :: Six Flags Over Texas, Arlington. Through October 15, from 12:00 – 11:00 p.m.. Cost: Daily admission starts at $45.


 

Homeschool Days :: Select Mondays, at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Learning levels: kindergarten – 5th grade.


 

Kimbell Kids Drop-In Studio :: Kimbell Art Museum. This free program takes children (ages 12 and younger) and their adult companions on a fun tour through museum galleries and art studio projects. Cost: Free. Select Saturdays in October.   


 

Little Sprouts Book and Garden Club :: Third Tuesday of the month at the Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Registration is open for September and October. For children ages 18 months – five years and their families.


 

Preschool Story Time :: Every Tuesday, 10:30 – 11:15 a.m., at East Regional Library. Stories, songs, and activities to build reading and school readiness skills, social and emotional skills, and community. Preschool Story Time is intended for children three – five years old and their grownups


 

Pumpkin Nights :: Howell Family Farms, Arlington. From 6:00 – 11:00 p.m.. Cost: $20 –  $28 per teen and adult; $15 – $20, per child (ages four – 12); kids three years and younger are free.


 

State Fair of Texas :: Fair Park, Dallas. Through October 22. As usual, there will be lots of insane food, family fun, farm animals, and more!


 

Story Time :: Every Tuesday and Friday at 10:30 a.m., Monkey and Dog Books in Fort Worth.

Pictures and Pages (Fotos y Libros) :: Kimbell Art Museum. From 10:30 – 11:30 a.m. Dual-language story times for kids, ages four – six years and their favorite adults. (Maximum two adults per child.) Cost: Free event, but registration is required.

River Legacy Fall Festival :: River Legacy Park and Nature Center. From 11:00 – a.m. 9:00 p.m. Family friendly, outdoor event. Tickets required for entry, see website for details.  

Toddler Studio – Where the Green Grass Grows :: Amon Carter Museum of American Art. From 11:00 – a.m. 12:00 p.m. Free event, but registration is required.

Homeschool Days – Plants on Our Plates :: Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Recommended for children in grades kindergarten – 5th grade. From 10:00 – 11:30 a.m. Registration deadline is October 5. Cost: $5 – 12 per person.


 

October 14

Dog Days :: Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Bring your dog for a fun day at the Garden, October 14 – 15! During regular hours, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Cost: Regular admission per person, and $5 per dog.

Family Fright Fest :: Steward Creek Park, The Colony. Music, games, food trucks, costume contest! Event begins at 3:00 p.m. Cost: Free!

¡Celebramos! Family Movie Night :: Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Enjoy a fun viewing of Rio on the Horsehoe Lawn at 7:00 p.m. Bring blankets and pre-order picnic baskets. No outside food or drink allowed. Cost: Free event and free parking! Register here

Dog Days :: Fort Worth Botanic Garden. Bring your dog for a fun day at the Garden, October 14 – 15! During regular hours, 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m. Cost: Regular admission per person, and $5 per dog.

Girls Nature Workshop – Fiesta Flowers :: Fort Worth Botanic Garden. From 1:00 – 2:30 p.m. Recommended for girls ages seven – 12. Cost: $10 – $12 per girl; $5 per adult. Registration deadline is October 18. 

Itty Bitty Art – Over in the Meadow :: Amon Carter Museum of American Art. From 10:00 – 11:00 a.m. Free event, but registration is required.
