It’s time to celebrate African-American and Pan-African history, values, family, community, and culture! And there are various ways to celebrate in the metroplex.

30th Annual Christmas/Kwanzaa Concert
Bruton Theater :: Dallas

Enjoy a night of hymns, gospel, and classical music at this thirtieth annual celebration. Featuring over 300 young voices from all over the metroplex, this is a true holiday music extravaganza. Tickets from $5.


December 21

Kwanzaa Unity Cup
Timberglen Branch Library :: Dallas

Design and construct your own unity cup to use during Kwanzaa. Supplies provided by the Friends of the Dallas Public Library. Free!

Kwanzaa Snowflakes
Highland Hills Auditorium :: Dallas

Personalize your own snowflake ornament to celebrate creativity, one of Kwanzaa’s Seven Principles. Markers, paint, glitter, and more will be supplied. Free!


December 27

DeSoto Kwanzaa Fest
Civic Center :: DeSoto

Join the festivities and celebrate with food, fellowship, and entertainment. The DeSoto Civic Center will be collecting canned food donations. Free!

Kwanzaa Snowflakes
Polk-Wisdom Branch Library :: Dallas

Paint, markers, and glitter will be supplied to create your own snowflake ornament, celebrating the “creativity” principle of Kwanzaa. Free!

Kwanzaa Storytime
Bookmarks in NorthPark Center :: Dallas

Enjoy storytelling and drums by Percussion Things, and do a craft to celebrate this festival of African American culture and heritage. Free!

Kwanzaa Celebration
The African-American Museum :: Dallas

Celebrate Kwanzaa in Fair Park with crafts for kids, a ceremony, galleries featuring exhibits on history and culture, and Kwanzaa movies shown throughout the week. Free!

Bone Soup: A Kwanzaa Story
Jubilee Theater :: Fort Worth

Enjoy a magical youth performance about the citizens of Culture Kingdom who use the seven principles of Kwanzaa to spark creativity and revitalize the community. Ticket sales help give underserved youth access to arts enrichment programs. Tickets from $9.

Kwanzaa Ritual
