Community Groups Coordinator :: Job Description

The community groups coordinator (CGC) role is paramount to the success of our community groups, Moms Groups (formerly known as Neighbor Groups), and how they live out Fort Worth Moms’ (FWM) mission.

Mission Statement: Fort Worth Moms exists to provide resources, encouragement, and community to parents in the Tarrant County area through its website, original content, social media platforms, events, sponsorship partners, and Moms Groups.

The CGC is part of the executive team, which helps steer the course of FWM, along with the other members of the “board.” She acts as a liaison between FWM and all Moms Groups leaders who lead each FWM Moms Groups, communicating with them on a weekly basis, passing on pertinent information from FWM, goals, guidance, encouragement, etc. In addition, she:

The community groups coordinator:

  • Addresses any reader or personnel problems that arise in any and all groups;
  • Maintains the lines of communication open between FWM and Moms Groups leaders, which includes, but is not limited to responding to emails from FWM and Moms Groups leaders within a timely manner (within 48 hours).
  • Work with Emily Youree to conceptualize and execute the strategy for Fort Worth Moms Facebook groups, including assisting in developing specific neighbor group boundaries;
  • Execute at least two meet-ups and/or events per calendar year for the members of the Moms Groups;
  • Creates articles, marketing materials, and other verbiage marketing FWM Moms Groups on the FWM platforms;
  • Conducts bi-annual one-on-one meetings with leaders;
  • Hosts bi-annual meetings with entire Moms Groups team answering questions;
  • Attends quarterly executive team meetings, quarterly one-on-one meetings with Emily, and the annual executive team retreat; and
  • Manage and moderate the groups on online platforms (such as Facebook), which includes, but is not limited to, hiring and firing leaders, approving members as needed, intervening as needed to delete inappropriate comments or content, and representing FWM in a positive professional manner at all times.

The role requires between 10-15 hours per month that includes weekly work (meaning 2-3 hours per week; cannot be bundled into big blocks of time once or twice per month). The pay is $200 per month.
