Kilyn's Kitchen Pulled PorkBy suppertime, my mind is mush. Most nights, I CANNOT, for the life of me, think of what to make to feed my family. This is where Kilyn’s Kitchen came to my rescue!

These meals are the easiest meals imaginable to make. Literally, all you have to do is boil water. That’s it. Put water in a big pot, and turn the stove on. Done. That’s easier than eating out! You don’t even have to drive anywhere.

What a relief it was to pull one of these meals out of my fridge, put it in boiling water for 25 minutes, cut the bag open, and serve.

The meals are surprisingly a great size as well. Depending on your family’s size and hunger level, the meals can be enough on their own, easily feeding a family of four. For the amount of food included (three pounds) and the huge gift of not having to cook or clean up, $9.99 is almost unbeatable. For four people, that’s only $2.50 per person per meal.

What’s on the Menu?

I tried several different meals from Kilyn’s Kitchen — and each was good!

When I saw the “cabin goulash,” I didn’t know what to expect because I didn’t know what goulash was — haha. It turned out yummy and kid-friendly. The noodles were good (who doesn’t like noodles?), and I really enjoyed the sauce with meat and corn mixed in. It’s nice to feed your family pasta but have other food groups represented, as well.

The “pulled pork in BBQ sauce” really surprised me. The pork was probably the best tasting I’ve had — and that’s saying something because I live in Texas. It was incredibly good, as it wasn’t drowning in sauce — which I really liked — and the seasoning was just sweet enough but mainly savory. The potatoes and carrots mixed in with the pork both tasted wonderful to my husband and me.

All of the Kilyn’s Kitchen options for Texas markets are:

  • Cabin goulash
  • Smoked pulled pork
  • Smoked pulled chicken
  • Pasta & meatballs
  • Chicken alfredo
  • Smoked meatloaf

Where to Get It?

The Kilyn’s Kitchen meals I tried had fairly generous expiration dates for prepared food (around one to two weeks from when I got them), so I think it would be great to have a couple in the fridge for when you don’t know what to cook or run out of ingredients to make a meal. These would also be perfect meals to bring to friends who just had a baby or lost a loved one. I am always intimidated by what to bring friends in these circumstances, and these meals could be a life saver for me. You can find Kilyn’s Kitchen products at your local Randall’s stores.

To have a meal for four for $9.99 is a great deal. And the alternative is usually eating out, which is almost always much less healthy and much more expensive. And let’s be honest; putting any number of children in car seats is probably just not worth it.
