Working from home seems to be here to stay. While many people have home offices, your house may not always be the ideal spot for working. Working from home has countless advantages, but there are also the distractions that come with it. Of course, you could always go to a library or coffee shop to work, but sometimes you want a change of scenery — and also to treat yourself to a substantial meal.

Pubs, Bars, Breweries, Oh My

Bankhead Brewing :: multiple locations :: This brewpub is known for pizza and beer, but it also has many options including salads and sandwiches. There is plenty of space in the bar area, with high top tables in addition to the bar. If you aren’t going for the pizza, try the fish and chips!

Fixe Southern House :: Fort Worth :: Work alongside the best biscuits in town! It serves a delicious brunch weekdays starting at 10:00 a.m. The bar is well stocked with friendly staff, outlets, and WIFI. Everything is so delicious here, from seafood to salads. But really, don’t miss out on the biscuits.

Fort Brewery :: Fort Worth :: This spot is known for its beer, live music, and kid-friendly patio. It also has an awesome $10 lunch special. Choose from personal pizzas, sandwiches, and salads. The price includes a soda or iced tea. Outside, the sprawling patio has heaters, fans, and a retractable roof, which means fresh air without the glare on your screen.

Hopdoddy Burger Bar :: multiple locations :: With several locations around Fort Worth, this tasty burger spot has some of the best fries and happy hour deals. The entire menu is half-off Monday through Thursday 3:00 – 6:00 p.m. if you sit at the bar! They have a few outlets and fun ambiance. You don’t even have to ask for the WIFI password, as it’s prominently displayed on table tents. The shakes are pretty fantastic as well.

The Magnolia Wine Bar :: Fort Worth :: It isn’t exactly a restaurant, but it does have snack boards and bottomless popcorn! The bar has more than enough outlets plus more in the dining room as well. With a daily happy hour, extensive wine list, and full bar, this is a favorite spot for finishing up work on a Friday — and then slamming your laptop shut until Monday!

Tavern :: Fort Worth :: Get your fill of salad, sandwich, or steak at this local favorite for a solid business lunch. The service is excellent, friendly, and well-timed. The menu is so good you can’t go wrong with whatever you choose. Top it all off with a large bar top for a work space and great WIFI, Tavern is always a great choice. 

Quince :: Fort Worth :: You’ll be happy working from here whether you’re on the patio taking in the views, or in the dining room checking out the live stream of its award-winning rooftop in Mexico City. This unique restaurant has an extensive global menu, so you are sure to find something you’ll love. It has an excellent cocktail menu as well for when you log off for the day.

Wabi House :: multiple locations :: This might be the best lunch deal in town with $9 ramen. There are four tasty options to fill you up for a busy day, including spicy miso and savory tonkotsu. There is plenty of space, especially if the covered outdoor bar and patio area are open. It has heaters and fans if the weather isn’t ideal. It does get a good lunch rush, but service is crazy fast. 

Woodshed Smokehouse :: Fort Worth :: Want to work outside on a nice day? Take yourself to Woodshed Smokehouse and enjoy some sunshine on the river. This place gets very busy when the weather is awesome, but weekday lunches tend to be manageable. Enjoy a variety of smoked meats in sandwiches, tacos, salads, and even ramen bowls.
