What’s in My Shopping Cart :: Elder Millennial Edition

Mom whispers to her child on city street.
The fact that I am an elder millennial (insert all the eye rolls) comes with the great realization that I am of a certain age. Lately, I’ve been feeling very “spendy.” I can’t stop hitting “add to cart”! Here are some items I am buying to scratch that itch — and most of them really show my years.

Compression Socks

This one is giving “old lady,” but my legs and feet have never felt more energized. I can spend hours on my feet thanks to these puppies. They also help with circulation on days you are sitting at a desk or traveling. I didn’t know it was possible, but I found some cute, striped ones from the brand Comrad. It has so many styles and colors, including ankle socks.

Cooling Mattress Cover

This one is an investment, but hear me out. Slumber Cloud’s Performance Mattress Pad cools your body and wicks away moisture while you sleep. There’s plenty of science and innovation behind this product that I will never understand, but your sleep will improve significantly.

Hand Sunscreen

I spend a decent amount of time driving, so I purchased an SPF 40 hand lotion. The sun in the car is intense! Supergoop!’s Hand Screen is highly rated and recommended to keep sun spots and wrinkles at bay. Fun fact — the company was founded by a Texan woman! She started out by providing SPF pumps in schools to promote sun health and safety. Both of these sunscreen products live in my purse and diaper bag at all times.

Lip Mask

Laneige Lip Sleeping Mask has also been added to the night routine. Anything that can work while I’m sleeping is mom approved. As the number one lip treatment in the country, it smooths and hydrates with real results. There are six delightful flavors ranging from original berry to peppermint.

Pricey Mascara

I’m not sure I’ll go back to drugstore brands after trying Thrive Causemetics Liquid Lash Extension Mascara. The price tag is on the steep side for me, but I look so much more awake — worth it! On top of being clean and cruelty-free, this company’s mission is to give back to communities in need. These are all things I can get behind.

Retinol

Hi, I’m middle-aged now, and need anti-aging skincare. I’ve added a retinol cream to my nightly routine. I like ROC’s affordable Deep Wrinkle Night Cream. The gentle formula helps prevent future fine lines and wrinkles.

Sunscreen Face Spray

I’m a fair, freckled gal and have always used SPF, but I’m upping the game. I apply Neutrogena’s Invisible Daily Defense Face Mist several times a day. With SPF 50, it’s a refreshing, protective refresh throughout the day. It works well over makeup.

Tinted Moisturizer

DRMTLGY’s Universal Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 46 is a game changer. Now that I use this, I don’t wear foundation anymore; I only add extra SPF if I’ll be outside in the sun. It moisturizes and blurs imperfections. I’m all for it, anything to make my mornings easier.

Have you tried any of these products? What are you buying these days that you would recommend?
