mothers day holding flowersMother’s Day is the perfect opportunity to show the female caregivers in our lives (moms, aunts, grandmothers, and more) just how precious they are to the family. It can be hard enough to pick just the right activity for the whole family to enjoy and honor mom. Having a tough time deciding what to do? Brunch is always a good answer! 

Here are some fun places around town to take mom. The price points range depending on what you’re in the mood for. And remember what mama always said: Plan ahead, because you might need to make reservations.

Classic Brunch Ideas 

Nothing says Mother’s Day like your classic brunch. Everyone dresses up (or however mom sees fit) and enjoys a delicious meal that no one has to clean up!

360 Brunch House :: $$ :: This brunch and lunch spot in Mansfield offers fresh homemade menu items without the mess of making it at home. They offer a variety of pancake and egg dishes as well as fresh squeezed juices to name just a few items from their vast menu.

B&B Butcher’s and Restaurant :: $$$ :: With a Fort Worth and Houston location, this hot spot offers special attention to mamas on this special day. Its Mother’s Day brunch on Sunday, May 8, from 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. features live music, a delicious brunch menu, and a balloon artist to entertain kiddos. Plus, each mom will receive a complimentary mimosa or bellini! 

Blue Mesa Grill :: $$ :: Dine at Blue Mesa Grill for a special Mother’s Day brunch, Tex-Mex style. Though they have extended hours on Mother’s Day, it’s a good idea to call to reserve your spot. The mega buffet, which includes mimosas, orange juice, coffee, tea, and soft drinks, is $30 per person. Kids ages six to 11 are $7, and kids five and younger eat free.

Brewed :: $$ :: Brewed will be hosting a special Mother’s Day brunch from 11:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. From pulled pork hash to bread pudding french toast, there’s a delectable meal waiting.

The Capital Grille :: $$$ :: Reserve a table at Capital Grille for a classy brunch. In addition to its classic menu, it will be offering exclusive chef’s features. It includes lobster frittata with butter poached lobster tails, a 14-oz, bone-in dry-aged New York strip and eggs, and an eight-ounce center cut filet mignon, all served with white cheddar hash browns.

Ellerbe Fine Foods :: $$$ :: For a farm-to-table experience, dine at Ellerbe Fine Foods on Magnolia Avenue. This quaint, darling restaurant serves elegant meals moms will love.

Gemelle :: $$ :: Set the perfect Mother’s Day scene at Gemelle, which has a garden patio to dine and celebrate. This restaurant is owned by chef Tim Love and has a breakfast for Hotel Otto guests, and a lunch and dinner menu for the public.

Montgomery Street Cafe :: $ :: A familiar staple located on Montgomery Street, this local favorite is small in space but big in taste. Omelettes, french toast, you name it. This place has it! 

Ol’ South Pancake House :: $ :: You’ll feel comfortable and happy at Ol’ South Pancake House! This casual atmosphere dishes all the classic breakfast and lunch dishes mom could want at an affordable price! 

Restaurant 506 :: $$ :: This Arlington treat is located at the Sanford House bed and breakfast. They provide indoor and outdoor seating in their courtyard (weather-permitting). They have a unique menu that provides something for everyone such as short rib omelet or the always popular biscuits and gravy. 

Snooze, an A.M. Eatery :: $$ :: You won’t find a wider selection of mimosas or eggs Benedict than at Snooze! This place is bustling, and patrons can get on a waitlist once at the door, so get there early!

Via Real :: $$ :: Located in Irving, this brunch spot offers a one-of-a-kind experience specializing in southwestern cuisine. Menu items include homemade waffles, potato and egg burritos as well as other delicious treats.

Vickery Cafe :: $ :: A throwback diner with all the classics (hello, fresh-squeezed orange juice!) and served with great customer service. Arrive early for a filling brunch. 

Wishbone & Flynt :: $$ :: This award-winning restaurant in Fort Worth offers scratch-made offerings in a comfortable setting. The brunch menu includes fun treats such as homemade jam and s’mores french toast.

Yolk. :: $$ ::Treat mom to a restaurant that has creative breakfast dishes and an assortment of specialty juices at Yolk. It offers classic breakfast and lunch options as well as unique culinary creations.

Casual and Active Family Fun

Maybe your Mother’s Day needs a little more activity or a place to take the family to hang out. Check out these unique places!

Fort Brewery :: This is a laid-back and family friendly place to enjoy Sunday with mom. This venue in Fort Worth offers delicious food, live music, and plenty of space for kids to run. Menu items include classic breakfast treats and even a kid’s menu. 

Fort Worth Zoo :: Reserve Mother’s Day brunch tickets at the Fort Worth Zoo! Tickets include brunch at The Reserve in the African Savanna, a meet-and-greet with the zoo’s outreach animals, giraffe-feeding experience, one African penguin adoption package for Mom, African penguin plush, personalized adoption certificate, coloring kit, zoo publication, and all day zoo admission. Tickets are $85 for adults (ages 13 and older), $30 for children (ages three to 12), and children two and younger are free.

Chicken N Pickle :: Enjoy a day of playing the popular game of pickle ball and delicious eats at this restaurant and play venue. There are indoor and outdoor pickle ball courts plus a wide variety of yard games and space to run and play. There is plenty of seating for eating and a fun food for a casual time together.

Firehouse Gastro Park :: This renovated historic firehouse in Grand Prairie provides a laidback and family-friendly space for indoor and outdoor relaxation and dining. The coffee shop opens at 7 am and the full menu starts at 11 am on Sundays. Plenty of space for small and large family gatherings! 

Pinstripes :: Why not celebrate mom with bowling and bocce ball? This multi-faceted venue in Fort Worth has plenty to do and eat for the whole family.

Taste Project :: Chef Jeff and his team will prepare a special menu especially for Mother’s Day. Everything will be prepared and served by our team of volunteers. Everyone is welcome regardless of means.  Guests can do one of the following: pay what you can afford, pay what you would typically pay, or pay what you would typically, plus a little extra. 

Top Golf :: We typically equate golf to dad, but it can be a fun activity for everyone in the right setting! Book a spot at this popular golf venue for fun and food. The good part of Topgolf is that it’s open to all skill levels and the full menu caters to all appetites. There are locations all over the metroplex too.
