July 1 // Cowpoke Camp // Cattle Raisers Museum // The Cattle Raisers Museum and the National Cowgirl Museum team up to celebrate the West every summer. Kids can participate in games, crafts, and activities for cowgirls or cowboys.

July 1 // Preschool Discovery Club :: Backyard Birds // Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge // Bring your three to five year old’s for a lesson about the natural world through a story, lesson, hike, and crafts. This month, kids will discover backyard birds. Pre-registration required. 

July 3 // Blue Star Family Days // Kimbell Art Museum // In celebration of Independence Day and in collaboration with Blue Star Families, the Kimbell Art Museum will offer active military, veterans, and their families free admission to the special exhibition The Language of Beauty in African Art.

July 5 // Pictures and Pages // Kimbell Art Museum //Different, disabled, and proud! Celebrate Disability Pride Month during this dual-language storybook reading of What Happened to You? by James Catchpole. Learn about different disabilities while exploring a Spanish artwork from the Kimbell’s permanent collection and learn how to write your name in Braille and in American Sign Language.  

July 8 // Locals Only Peach Fest // Locals Only is a multi-business event with door prizes, discounts, and more.

July 8 // Virtual Couponing Class // Learn couponing lingo, cashback breakdowns, and store deal breakdown for the week. 

July 9 // Parker County Peach Festival // Head to downtown Weatherford and stroll through more than 200 vendors, listen to live music, and eat fresh peaches and peach-themed food.

July 9 // Free Backyard Composting Class // River Legacy Living Science Center // Attend this hands-on class about how to compost at home. This event is free and requires no registration. It meets at the compost area in the southeast corner of the science center parking area. 

July 10 // Tough Plants for North Texas // Presented by Save Tarrant Water // This free virtual class teaches how to create a lush Texas yard by choosing tough plants that are native to this region.

July 12 – 17 //Jesus Christ Superstar // Bass Performance Hall // Jesus Christ Superstar is set against the backdrop of an extraordinary series of events during the final weeks in the life of Jesus Christ as seen through the eyes of Judas. Reflecting the rock roots that defined a generation, the legendary score includes “I Don’t Know How to Love Him,” “Gethsemane,” and “Superstar.”

July 13 // Cover to Cover // Fort Worth Museum of Science and Natural History // This virtual book club is for readers 18 years and older and spotlights non-fiction history and science topics.The July book is Dead Wake by Erik Larson. 

July 15 // Preschool Discover Club :: Backyard Birds // Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge // Bring your three to five year old’s for a lesson about the natural world through a story, lesson, hike, and crafts. This month, kids will discover backyard birds. Pre-registration required. 

July 15 // Jazz on the Green // Kimbell Art Museum // Bring a blanket or lawn chair and listen to the sounds of talented local musician Tatiana “LadyMay” Mayfield. Admission to the special exhibition The Language of Beauty in African Art is free and all day long. Free activity kits for kids will be offered, and light snacks and a variety of beverages will be available for purchase. 

July 16 // LEGO Movie Day // Downtown Cowtown at the Isis // Catch the first LEGO movie starting at 12:00 p.m. followed by the second LEGO movie at 4:00 p.m. In between films, head upstairs to play with Rogue Brick Builders

July 19 // Water Days: Kayaking // Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge // Head to the Fort Worth Nature Center and Refuge to kayak and learn about the plants and animals that are found in and around the water. All equipment is provided. Meet at the Canoe Launch. Pre-registration required. 

July 23 // Little Red Riding Hood // Weatherford College // Admission is free to this performance of Little Red Riding Hood. Doors open 30 minutes before showtime. 

June 9 – July 3 // Into the Breeches // Stage West // This delightful and moving backstage comedy examines the power of art to bring us together, even in the hardest of times, celebrating the women of WWII.

July 26 – 31 // Mean Girls // Bass Performance Hall // Mean Girls is about Cady Heron, who grew up in the African Savanna, moves to Illinois and meets a trio of mean bullies. But when she comes up with a plan to end the lead bully’s reign, she learns the hard way that you can’t avoid a little pain when dealing with a mean girl.
